He has an 'ex-wife' (plus kids) to maintain apparently - what's the betting he played away with a younger model...? - but it's the school fees that are probably rinsing him. Tories are incapable of seeing school fees as anything other than an essential spend - probably because they went to private school themselves. You simply MUST buy preferment for one's children!

This is probably why tories put zero effort into the state school system.

None of their kids use it.
