Now I know they are a factory option on new BMW's and Audi's, but I am amazed at the size of some of them. The newest Vauxhall's have indicators the size of Mars bars and I was behind a Nissan pickup this morning that had a single 'C' shaped sequential strip around the outside edge of the rear cluster.
Call me old fashioned, but surely lights should prioritize function over form.

Try driving in America! They don’t give a flip what colour their indicators are or where they’re placed!! Over taking, undertaking.. with their big gulps and their big screen GPS!!

Agree with this. A car pulled put on my yesterday and I was jsut about to get cross because they hadn't used their indicators. Then, when they put their hazzards on to thank me I realised they had. They were just barely visible

Almost without exception lorry drivers will indicate when they are overtaking. I don't know why but car drivers rarely use them. On motorways you may get people indicating but sometimes it's only when they have turned off onto the slip-road and even then it's probably only a couple of flashes as if they have.just remembered.

I preferred the ones that used to physically flick outwards usually from close to the top of the front doors 😩
Termed trafficators I believe. We had some on my dad's Morris Minor. People across the road had some on their old Ford Pop which were a bit sticky. All the kids in the back had to hammer on the inside of the 'B' pillar to get the bloody thing to pop out. Nostalgia, it's not what it used to be. :)

Ah…….but you can obviously see them clearly enough, although I do get where you’re coming from.

The golf ones used to get me where the indicator was in the centre of the brake light. As soon as the brakes were applied you couldn't see the indicators.

I'd also like to see some sort of interlocking on rear fog lights to stop people driving round with them on because it's either raining or dark.

I remember my good old dad using the arm signals in his first car - an Austin A30. It was on its last legs when he got it, but I still love the look - most modern cars have little character. I'd have one today as a runaround with a modern engine under the bonnet.
