Mogga - not a Boro Legend

If ever one man could be described as a team legend its Tony Mowbray. Led a group of men to glory on minimum wage (ok maybe a bit more 😁).
I'm Sure in his interview he ended with "but from a Middlesbrough point of view I'm happy."

In the club's darkest hour too.

The other thing worth remembering is that he wasn't much more than a kid himself at that age: maybe about 23?
I didn't think about that much in the 80s; my age was single digit, so it seemed ancient to me, but obviously I see it different now.

I don't think that was due to any allegations against MJ.

It was removed as soon as EL Fayed sold up. It was always regarded as completely random, and made the club a bit of a laughing stock, in the eyes of Fulham fans.
The Michael Jackson statue is in the National Football Museum now - or was last time I visited.

My version.

Look, it is what is. I came back to the Boro at, possibly, the wrong time. We had a few good seasons and brought in some good players at reasonable prices, which improved the Club moving forward. Unfortunately we couldn’t push on, especially in the second half of the season, after being in good positions at Christmas. Maybe, if the Club had more money to spend at the time, especially in the January window, then we may have got promoted. Anyway I left the Club on good terms and would like to see the Club back in the Premier League where they belong. Looking forward to seeing the Boro go up this season. Meanwhile I am stuck with these ****.. It’s decent money towards my retirement though. (y) 🚀🌛
