Holed our season below the waterline...
Lack of cover at full back also undefendable....
None of this down to NW.....

Don't shoot the messenger....

No grit or defensive nous in our midfield, exposing the defence....

Without it we are so soft centred, an extremely poor man's Spurs or West Ham of old....

Without the passing ability.....

I'd rather play without Morsy in that 'role', than have him in the side and pick up a needless card/sending off and leave us exposed anyway. He was an absolute passenger in almost every game he played.

I'm surprised the focus on these threads is so much on Morsy rather than Saville. Sav finally seemed to settle in and have a good season with us last year. Had a few goals in him and did a lot of dirty work breaking up the other side. Out of the two I'd have rather kept him.

We let both of our decent engine, dirty work players go (Sav and Morsy) and didn’t replace either. Every game is just so open! I don’t know how we fix that?

Agreed, Sav is very much missed also....

Did Morsy play every week for us? Was he that important?

When he was a member of our squad I don’t recall many people saying these things. Since the speculation of his departure he seems to have become more and more important. Since he left, even more so.

I remember a player who couldn’t hold down a regular place in an inconsistent, mediocre team. When he did play you only really noticed him when he got his card off the ref. Never grabbed a game by the scruff of its neck.

Strange how he’s become so highly rated.

Even Maddo biting the hand that feeds by telling it like it is on the radio....

"Too open & expansive"
Warnock teams have never played that way his entire career. I would say hes as unhappy as anyone in being pushed into playing a style he doesn't like, because of recruitment policy. It's like watch garrrry monks boro team we have great individuals and we are ready to say it has to come good but unless you do the fundamentals of hard graft and playing as a team you don't get anywhere

I really don't see how we can, it's been a monumental fook up!
You must be on a wind up? Saville was and is absolute garbage. Morsy was alright but slow. Howson is past it and as unpopular as this may ne has been pretty poor but at least professional since signing. We have a better squad now than when we were relegated. A manager who wanted to play football would have us challenging with this group

It's always the case that the players who aren't playing, or who have been sold, are the answer to the question of why we aren't winning games its also always right after a bad defeat.

The fact is that Morsy dropped down a division he was that good - let's be right about this, we've underachieved both with and without him this season and not one Champo club made a serious effort to sign him. That should tell you something.

A better point would be that the players we've signed aren't up to the pace of things yet and NW is struggling to get the team to click - whether that because the players we've signed aren't good enough to do any better, whether they need a bit of time, whether they aren't suited to the NW's style of football, or a combination of these, remains to be seen.
