Most underrated premier player ever

A lot of players say Moussa Dembele at Spurs.

Maybe Suarez? He was electric, best player in the league by a mile and doesn’t often pop up in the ‘best ever PL player’ lists.

Ginola was class as well, but never got selected for France and I don’t think history has been kind to how good he was because a guy who just stands still and combs his hair when out of possession wouldn’t last 5 mins today.

Any suggestions?
I'll throw Dennis Irwin and Paul Mcgrath into the mix.
On the Boro front Robbie Mustoe
I'd also say Boateng for boro.

Not by Boro fans, but by fans of other clubs. There was a 3 year period where he was one of the best defensive midfielders in the league but I doubt anyone outside the club recognised it.

I still think we've have finished 4th in 04/05 if he hadn't been injured for the run in. Our form dipped badly without.

Better than Ince for us and Ince was excellent for us and getting picked for England.

How he only got 4 caps and someone like Nigel De Jong picked up about 80 is ridiculous.

I'm not sure Gareth Southgate got the full recognition along with Ugo,they could easily have played as a partnership for a top 4 team,we were very lucky to have them.
I’ve said this before but I seem to remember a run of games when we just didn’t concede. Boro might have got close to 10 games without a goal. Those two were brilliant together.

On the Boro front it’s probably downing, gets absolutely slated by 90% of the population, I remember one game for England he put it on a plate for crouch about 4 times. He fluffed them all and the press went to town on downing for failing to create again.

Ask Viduka or JFH what they think of Downing. Ask World Cup and champ league winner Massimo Oddo if he enjoyed playing against downing. That will tell you everything

Good shout. I remember at the time his defensive stats were top of the league for a couple of years, yet no one outside of Boro talked about him

In a way I think Juninho. Considering he's a world cup winner and PL player of the season, I often find when I mention him to fans of other clubs they'll default to thinking I'm talking about the free kick specialist in the French league.

Peter Crouch. I think it is more because he didn't look how people think a footballer should look. About a 1 in 2 goal scoring record for England.

Thats was the first time Downing played for England. I thought it was more than 4 chances Crouch fluffed but get your point. (y)
