Mowatt

Mowatt looked quality when he came on but I wouldn’t underestimate the contribution of Hackney to that.

Hackney seems to be one of those rare players who lifts the game of those around him.

Double edged sword for WBA, recall him and we have the finances to replace him with better. At least he is blocking a loan spot if he is here post new year. Unless they need him for 1st team can't see them recalling him.

He was excellent today, read in the press that he needs to be fit and playing to see the best of him, has issues with weight when he's out of the side. Looked like he'd lost a few clem when he came on, probs due to the break for world cup 👍

He's always been a decent championship player. Throw in a couple of really outstanding seasons at Barnsley.

So we shouldn't be overly suprised. I really thought he was a decent signing. Although unfortunately not remotely 'like for like' with Tav (what we needed). He's very similar to Howson. So I guess as a pair they don't overly work.

Just waiting for 'worldie' from that left peg of his. Plenty on YouTube. He's got one in him 👍

I think the lad is a good player, I think any player who was in poor form under wilder needs to be given another chance. He's obviously got the ability playing in the right position, although I do wish he would shoot a bit more as that's what he is most remembered for!

Did well but has a tendency to check back inside instead of thinking forward first, and that is what ultimately lead to the goal.

He had a easy forward pass to Watmore, took an extra touch, checked back inside and then ran himself into trouble and kicked it into touch where the subsequent goal came from.

Thankfully that came at 3 up because if that had came at nil nil the comments on this thread would not have been so effusive.

Hear what you're saying ,but a bit earlier he checked back before passing to Hackney - whose pass to Giles helped set up the goal. If we blame him for the goal conceded when 3 more things happened afterwards (throw cross finish) before it hit the net then the same should apply to the 2nd goal we scored
