The labour fella, isn't he a Councillor? So he got elected , therefore electableWho’s this?
To be fair, he isn't claiming that event as his own, just that it was a success and that he would like to repeat it on a smaller scale.Remember this after Dave Budd's team worked round the clock to get the big weekend?
New mayor wants to capitalise on positivity created by the Radio 1 event, and also wants to introduce monthly music festivals in the town centrewww.gazettelive.co.uk
To be clear Chris Cooke is everything that Andy Preston isn’t.
He cares about the people of our town
He lives in the town
He’s happy to set agendas and let the experts do their jobs.
He wants much more openness in the council, it’s currently like a secret society.
A little about him..
He has a degree in IT, and worked n schools for a number of years, he then moved to the third sector where he helps run a charity in Middlesbrough. I’m sure Chris will have lots to say in the next few weeks.
To be fair, he isn't claiming that event as his own, just that it was a success and that he would like to repeat it on a smaller scale
If folks who are going to be voting day they don’t like Andy Preston but they fonk rate the other guys either.. that makes them unelectable. Nothing to do with him being elected as a councillor or Jeremy Corbyn. The labour fella, isn't he a Councillor? So he got elected , therefore electable
Always found the phrase "unelectable " strange.
Anyone who wins enough votes us electable
They used yo say corbyn was unelectable, yet he was elected numerous times as a MP and also elected leader, ironicly when people said he was unelectable and they was no point him standing for leadership
Anyone standing is electable, it's just a case of convincing enough people your the best person for the jobIf folks who are going to be voting day they don’t like Andy Preston but they fonk rate the other guys either.. that makes them unelectable. Nothing to do with him being elected as a councillor or Jeremy Corbyn.
As long as it’s not to the detriment of the town.. and his position isn’t just being used to boost his property portfolio. Not a clue. Think he was involved in commercial property wasn’t he??
Obviously been very profitable for him, anyway.
Good to have a successful businessman like that running the town. Someone who understands how the wheels of industry turn and what it takes to get projects off the ground
There was a report commissioned by the council who actually pointed out that he and his executive have bullied and have a culture of bullyingAnd that counts both ways.
The original comment was along the lines of the bully being a bully., is that not a comment about somebody's character also ?
I know Chris very well and exactly what his background is. He hasn't had an easy start in life and deserves any success he does get. If he decides he is going to do something he will certainly get it done and can be a bloody thorn in your side whilst he is trying to get it done. He does tend to hold a grudge though.
So a scaffolder/chemical engineer/dock worker/car salesman/brickie (delete as appropriate) would be a better choice then?Yeah, if I wanted to pick a proffesiom that reflected the hard working, altruistic, selfless people of Middlesbrough I'd have chosen a hedge fund manager
