Musk Completes his Twitter Takeover

Hopefully he'll close it down. Most destructive invention since the plutonium bomb.
I don’t agree I’m not a fan of social media and I hate face book as I think it’s just so misleading and boring ( it’s not for uncle Dave to share his holiday snaps it’s actually the world largest market research tool).

Twitter though I find a great media resource esp for the recent Ukraine conflict the likes of Steve rosenberg the bbc man in Moscow and the reporters on the front line in Ukraine has been a real eye opener.

The short form of Twitter makes it succinct as well. Plus hignfy daily is great as well.

Twitter is quite often an awful dump of vacuous and argumentative wastrels. There are some redeeming users but I’m not far off ditching it if it gets much worse under the Musk buffoon. Part of the problem is the media frequently overestimates its importance, it’s not always representative of the population and shouty activists of various affiliations have more of a voice than they deserve. There are obviously worse online communities, but if it ceased to exist tomorrow I think the internet would be a better place.

It's not possible to take Musk seriously since he revealed his Alt-Right side. He used to be really inspirational.

With him in charge and his approach to their user base, the site's going to shed regular users by the bucket load. It'll become a marginalised hellhole. This isn't going to be a success for him. I bet Zuckerberg is delighted with this news.

You're using social media when you use FMTTM
It really felt like a social media site as well during the covid lockdowns, there were some right crackpot posts.

Bit like brexit really, I think this place sorts the wheat from the chaff pretty well, vast majority of the brexity loons are nowhere to be seen anymore, just like the covid ones.

Why does Musk get so much hate on here?
Jealousy?
Envy?
What gives?
I know next to nothing about the bloke, I was going to watch that documentary about him but couldn't be bothered.

I'm concerned about him letting Trump and people of that ilk back onto a major platform which is full of impressionable idiots.

Judging by the EV posts on this site I'd say Elon Musk has many fans.

A man with a large audience who publicly calls someone a “pedo guy” is probably a bit of a berk. I’ve seen nothing in how he conducts himself to convince myself that he’s anything more than an incredibly competent and successful businessman with an overinflated sense of his importance and understanding of topics outside of his expertise. Envy or jealousy are utterly irrelevant, I may as well be envious of the Chuckle Brothers (RIP Barry) as there’re also wealthier and more successful than myself.

I have a chuckle brother story I knew someone who worked in a pub in Billingham when they were on the forum and when she served them they did the whole to me to you act at the bar…

To me….

Erm....Trump is the nasty racism stuff, surely? He'll be back, along with Hatie Kopkins and the like.
Trump and Hopkins are odious. And every time people say Trump is our friend I remind them of his attending a Sinn Fein fundraiser while the IRA were still active. Hopkins is just so far off the scales

He's a tyrant who thinks he can micro-control people and he is a bully, sacking anyone who dares to have a different opinion to him regarding Twitter. At the moment he is inconsitent too, he told folk they have to 'be hardcore' and work stupidly long hours (no more pay) and if not willing then resign. A great many (including the accountants, pay staff, and infra engineers have resigned and he's then had to try to lure some back. The next morning he emails that he wants everyone who is a software engineer (programmer) at Twitter HQ by 2PM

He is clever at generating money and works hard and long hours himself but he expects that of everyone else and they are not getting the vast rewards in terms of money from their labours...he is. He appears to have no inter-personnel skills and is prone to lashing out when he methods are criticised.

In short he is a bell-end.
