How green that pitch was, emerging from the East stand stairs.

Oh yes. It gave me goosebumps as a kid. Holding my dad's hand and seeing the crowd and the worlds greenest pitch for the first time . It was amazing.
I was in the chicken run and had a box to stand on so I could see over the wall.
Loads of dad's made boxes or steps for the kids to stand on.
Happy days.
