My son just tested positive

My son has just tested positive with a lateral flow today. The rest of us have just come out of quarantine and had hoped to spend the day at Winter Wonderland in London together. Now the highlight of the day is our PCR test at 4.30 pm. Just need to call my 83 year old Dad now to tell him that he can’t come for Xmas. Joy!
 
Had my booster last month, went to the pub for the first time in 20 months last week and picked up Covid, so now self isolating for Christmas 🎅 😷. Felt ill from last Thursday as did the others that met up (outside in a beer garden) but lateral flow tests all showed negative till today. Had two tests and both show positive so I have ordered a PCR to confirm.

PS. London is getting badly hit with Omnicron and just a matter of time before it gets up there.

If all your PCR's come back negative then your plans should still be in place?

Yes, good point but not feeling hopeful after two positive lateral flows. I’ll hold off telling Dad about Xmas arrangements until we get the results.

You would be surprised. We had a lad at work test positive with a lateral flow whilst I was off on paternity. He took two PCR's over the next two days that both came back negative. He didn't feel unwell during this period either so all good.
 
Just had a phone call that my other daughter(9 year old) is covid positive. So thats my three eldest daughters got it now(or recently recovered in the case of my eldest).

You want to be careful though. Me and my girlfriend tested positive on LTFs, I was expecting to have it due to multiple close contacts. We had PCRs - mine positive, hers negative. But we knew she must have it so she continued to isolate, tested positive on another LTF, so she got another PCR which was positive.

If she cancelled her isolation following the negative PCR who knows what damage she could have wrought.
