Network North- Covering the UK..

Absolute joke. The money they've saved scrapping HS2 is being spent in London and named a 'Network North Project'.

Come on guys that's very one sided.. .
Here's the rest of the story 👍

PM redirects HS2 funding to revolutionise transport across the North and Midlands

Communities in towns, cities and rural areas will see improved transport infrastructure far sooner through £19.8 billion reinvested in the North, including:

  • £2 billion for a new station at Bradford and a new connection to Manchester;
  • £2.5 billion to deliver a new mass transit system in West Yorkshire;
  • £3 billion for upgraded and electrified lines between Manchester and Sheffield, Sheffield and Leeds, Sheffield and Hull, and Hull-Leeds.
  • Nearly £4 billion more funding for local transport in the North’s six city regions.
  • A new £2.5 billion fund for local transport across all areas in the North outside the six city regions – smaller cities, counties, towns and countryside.
  • A new £3.3 billion fund for road resurfacing.
  • Landmark investments in roads, reopened train lines and new stations;

All looks good on paper, but they publish something like this prior to every election then once they have the votes money starts getting cut from the budget because ... reasons and more often than not them cuts come from the north.

The Tories have done b***r all on infrastructure in 14 years, and if their record with the economy over that time is any indication of how they will run projects on this scale I would rather they let the adults in the room manage it.

They also had a big advert on a bus promising the NHS money on a weekly basis, I wonder how that one is going. ;)

I think it probably has gone to the NHS but it's been swallowed up by the unprecedented demand on services 👍
OR to the pockets of their donors who own stakes in private healthcare that the NHS is forced to rely on due to chronic underfunding? Maybe it could be that!
