New car recommendation

I have a Lexus IS300 company car, 50mpg easy for me, 2.5 hybrid so plenty of power when needed. It’s like driving an armchair, plenty of bells and whistles included. I think you’ll be struggling for 10k though, the lease company wanted 14k for my last car at three years old and 65000 on the clock.

Is a second hand EV not a risk to buy. For example if you bought a two or 3 years old Ev and sold at 5 or 6 years old. Who would want a 6 year old EV i cant say i would it could get costly in terms of maintenance and repairs. Whats the depreciation on EV cars compared to petrol and diesels.

Thanks for all the help and pointers folks. I think I might look to lease instead, still go the EV route but then there’s no risk in terms of repairs and depreciation etc.

Traded in my Astra Ecoflex 1.0l for a new 1.2l Corsa. It's effectively a Peugeot 208. Vauxhall had redesigned the Corsa, but when Peugeot took them over they said no build it on the 208 chassis. It's got a Peugeot engine and gearbox too which I find to be sluggish and clunky compared to the Astra. Daughters boyfriend has the previous Corsa, and the interior feels more spacious and better appointed. On the whole it's a pretty unrefined eurobox.

There's a nice top of the range one of those 9-5s, 1 owner, 26k mileage, FSSH on auto trader. Tempted to offer a cheeky £8k. But think Mrs would have something to say about that.
