New club crest coming!

I think simple is the key, but not daft simple like Leeds. Maybe a nod to the past but with something 'new' to actually commemorate the anniversary.

If we're honest, the current badge isn't that bad its just that lots of us had a strong affiliation with the 1986 badge because of the era we had while we had it.

Sorry, but I beg to differ, the current badge is completely awful, it's like some medieval coat of arm from King Arthur's court, dreadful. I've hated it since it came in and have never bought any club merch with it on for that reason. (NB: I have had a shirt bought for me with the current badge on and have worn it on occasion under sufferreance).

It doesn’t have to be a physical landmark that is represented. But if it had to be, don’t you dare forget the A66 flyover!

I'd expect a basic lion, the date and maybe our initials instead of the full name on there.

Not really, its a chicken/cheese dish that may have been enhanced in Boro somewhat but is by no means unique to it. Plus, I'm not having it on a badge!

Horses for courses but I've seen worse. I don't think there's anything objectively terrible about it. If it was another club's badge I'd just be like 'yeah alright'.

The ribbony bits? The shield shape? They're both fairly commonly used on club crests.

Surely no one objects to the lion or the year.

Don't get me wrong, I don't love it, but that's largely because the club was completely synonymous with the 1986 badge for me until that point.

I cant remember what game it was back in the day, may of been sensible soccer where you could create your own club crest, they were really basic, that's what our current crest is like, cheap and basic, sorry if others disagree but that's my opinion anyway!!

Bring back the 86 crest, best in the country, no contest!!

I wouldn't be totally against this, but I suspect the club have something more 'modern' in mind or they wouldn't be planning it two years out.
