Next season

Can we please sign a left sided center back to compliment Fry. This would stop us playing a right sided defender there who not only cant defend well in that position but it also means they cant play the ball out from the back comfortably, so the team becomes unbalanced.
We have never replaced Gibson

Jake Cooper from Millwall for me. Left footed, very tall. Right from the Warnock copy book. Would be a good foil for Fry.

I don't think it will be difficult to replace Bettinelli, even on the cheap, I did fear that his recent decent form would convince Warnock to offer him a contract but hopefully today is the end of that.

The strikers will be the main challenge.

I must of been in the fridge getting a can when he showed "his recent decent form" he's as poor as Brad Jones get rid of him. I think his contract is up at Fulham(maybe wrong on that but thought I had read it) but I would not have him on a free.

Decent for him.
Went 6 games without making an obvious mistake, even made a handful of good saves.

Under contract till June 23 supposed current transfer market value £3.6mill, probably out of our reach in current climate.
Great shout though, this is definitely type of buy we need. just someone nearer the end of current contract.

Wingers and strikers should be the main focus in the summer. It's clear we're all about getting the ball wide and whipping crosses in but we don't have the players to play that way.

Been impressed with him in midfield when he’s played there recently and think he’s cost us a few goals at the back. Fry is the reason he’s looked good at the back, every time Fry isn’t there McNair looks all at sea. I think he’s got it in him to compliment Morsy and Tav in there with his power and be a good box to box player for us.
I really don't see McNair as part of a Midfield who will get us promoted next season, he's ok as emergency backup. As Warnock himself has said he is an average midfielder and I agree, he's far too inconsistent in this role to be a regular. I don't recall too many games where he's played in Midfield for us and we have done well as a team. He was superb alongside Fry and Dijksteel at the heart of defence playing a sweeper role earlier in the season and this is the position he should remain if he is to be part of the starting line up. I feel we have lost our shape this year and not having these three together is a major part of this!

We've got a decent enough team. A good striker will make a huge difference. Need to sign Johnson on for another year too. Biggest mistake Warnock has made is dropping him. Right winger and a goalkeeper also on the list.
The most important thing is keeping Tav and keeping him fit. He's our best player.

With the run in we have I think we’ll be about 8th this season. Very confident of play-off next season if Warnock can get a few in that he really wants.

Next season will be tougher than this season. We shouldn’t go out and look to sign Anyone. Im not a fan of Warnock but hes got enough to use experienced players we have along with Academy player to keep us in the league. add a couple of free signings maybe but thats it. Properly stabilise the club once and for all and soend next season getting a financial and football plan together. I dint understand how people could think we’ll bd challenging next year. Nucleus of the squad is ageing and or not good enough. (Howson, Saville) pur best players are akways injured (Tav) and we need to replace our entire front line and wide players. Simple answer is dont. Wait a year and aboid paying anything as much as is praticably possible. Start of 22/23 season will have a more stable settled financial landscape and we should have a different manager assuming we dont get promoted next year. Dont waste money on Warnock signings that will need to be replaced like Monk, Pulis. Let Warnock settle the club and then make some sensible decisions for the first time in 6 years

Cooper is decent , but as you say probably out of our reach , so my choice would be
Declan Gallagher , Motherwell Captain LCH , Scottish international who is out of contract June .Age 30 , h1.96m , old fashioned tough , two footed commanding centre half who I would make captain .
Alex Mowatt , also bring in as another captain to add to the group, if they don't go up. Also out of contract .
Can't have too many leaders , and we have none .

If we don't sign 5-6 better players at least we will struggle. By better I mean better than
Britt
Fletcher
Akpom
Mendez Laing
Johnson
Betinelli
Archer
Saville
And Bolasie and Kebano need replacing if they don't stay on which is very likely .
You are saying don't let Warnock sign these players ?
Warnock is here next season , so he will the one making the signings , although the jury is out on some of the 10 he has signed .

Build the whole team around Tav in my opinion. Really improved this season to one of the best players in the league

I like Tavernier, but where are comments like this coming from?

He's an attacking midfielder/winger with 3 goals and 4 assists in 29 games.

He's a good Boro player but he's nowhere near one of the best players in the league.

There are well over a dozen players in this league in a similar position who have had a better season.

His improvement has been significant this term. I believe in what I’ve seen. He’s at the stage where he’s realised how good he is, and will improve further next year. I hope I’m right and this pans out for us. I think he’s a premier league player, no doubt in my mind.

Fingers crossed, eh?

There's a difference between thinking he can become one of the best players in the league and him actually being one of the best though.

Wouldn't disagree that he's got it in him to excell, and I hope he does next season.

Agree with you about Johnson, he's been very unlucky to be bombed out, considering early season he seemed to be the only one able to cross a ball into the box. I can't help but think it's covid related as he seemed to disappear from the line up after the outbreak.

I just get through next season minimum expenditure possible, stay in the league give young prospects a chance. In the background, work on whos going to be manager and have a real plan instead of shifting from one disaster to another. Warnock’s signings have only demonstrated he can waste money justvas goodas anyone. Exclude Watmore, Hall, Morsy. Everyone else has flattered to decieve

We tried to buy promotion and failed.
Not that I blame the club for trying. We just had the wrong managers.
That time has gone.
I obviously don't know but I suspect we now have no money.
To be honest I find that exciting and I am looking forward to next season.
I like Neil Warnock and I hope he builds a team by being clever and improving what we have (especially the youngsters) rather than just buying success.
I think they can do it.
