NFL draft starts tonight.

Teams use a value rating points system when they are doing trades to evaluate if the trade is a good or bad “value” for them. So to move up significantly in the first round will cost you a lot of draft picks/players.

In theory you could get any number of first round picks in this years draft, but it would never happen as you would have to give up too many players and too much future draft capital to acquire them.

Thanks, that's quite interesting.
I suppose next-year-picks are with slightly less than this year picks as a) you have to wait and B) you don't know where exactly in any round you'd be picking.

As another twist, positional need/availability at that stage if the draft might lead to some teams being prepared to trade more or less than that chart indicates.

I think Odunze has been training with Williams, Allan and Moore over the past week. Looks like the Bears have done some work on him too so potentially a strong offense for the Bears! Here’s hoping!

Seen him predicted to go second round (tomorrow night) in most mock drafts. He’s old compared to a lot of the other prospects, 24 compared to 21.
I have a feeling that he ends up going to Denver in the first . Seems very much a Payton player and they definitely need a QB.

Bears fan here so very excited - Caleb Williams is nailed on first pick but 9 is really interesting. Joe Alt would be ideal to provide protection for our rookie QB but I think he'll be gone by then. With DJ Moore and Keenan Allen I don't feel like WR is too much of a priority but if Rome Odunze is still on the board (Marvin Harrison Junior and Malik Nabers will be gone) then that is extremely attempting.

Less sexy option but a left tackle to support Darnell Wright or another edge rusher to complement Montez Sweat is probably the way to go. Could maybe look at trading down and still being able to pick a great defensive prospect in the early teens.

There are a few different value charts around, that’s the one I use the most but you’re right teams might have to pay more if they are desperate for a certain player.

I think we might see a few teams trading tonight, Vikings being one and they have 2 first round picks.

I love the draft, the bargaining and manoeuvring that goes on.
The daft thing is, I know nothing about any of the players being selected. I've no idea who is good an who isn't, but it's still compelling watching.
Will record and watch tomorrow, so I'll avoid this thread until then....
Me too Frozen Horse!
Due to its objective for stocking multi-positional and overall larger team rosters, I find the NFL Draft to be the most interesting and exciting of all the North American sports drafts. Some teams definitely better others in exploiting its importance 🏈👍

So what direction do you think your team will go Ravs?

Washington, Jayden Daniels.

Been a few silly rumours swirling about them trading the #2 pick but can't see it.

Trading Howell was a bit of a giveaway regarding where they are looking for their first round pick.

Supposedly a good, strong draft for OL in the lower rounds - lot of draft boards have Alt going top 10.

Niners will be looking to add to their offensive line no doubt as this is their Achilles heel although I feel that they might have look at free agency to bring the bodies. I’m sure we’ll see a lot of wheeling and dealing in this draft as many teams are short of many standout players.

Bottom line Yearbyred other than hopes and annual surprises I haven’t got any idea as to who my Steelers will come up with.

We have 7 picks total in the first 6 rounds… 20, 51, 84, 98, 119, 178 and 195.

The First-3-Rounder Mock Draft (with projected players still available at time of pick) I have been following came up with these four in order…

20 Troy Fautanu OT Washington
51 Zach Frazier C West Virginia
84 Jarrian Jones CB Florida State
98 Luke McCaffrey WR Rice

As per usual I’ll be eyeing the AFC North😘

Impressive dedication to watch tomorrow. I'm on US Central time, but even I won't bother with much of tomorrow night!

I'm on a train heading home from work, hoping to get through the door before 7pm my time when it starts (although there's sure to be a load of American b***ks before the actual picks begin lol)

Well I’ll be following tomorrow, actually more interested as my team has no picks today. Won’t be actually watching the tv broadcast but following on social media live.

Roads closed and a flyover for a pick...insane?
