NFL trades

My head is spinning with the Browns right now. Sounds like they are doing a 'Brady' and reducing Watson's first year salary to cap his potential fines and in turn opening up the wage cap. The subsequent cap limit is now being touted as an avenue to negotiate with Clowney, possibly bring Landry back and, most left field of all, get OBJ back.
It's like a soap opera at the moment and no doubt there'll be new twists and turns once they wake up in Ohio this morning.

Yeah I thought it would have been about wages/ salary cap, and see he's been offered a record deal (not for albums I hope  ). Didn't know players could walk though, or what happened if they did, or what franchise tags are, so you're clearly more clued up than me. A big 4 year deal might have been a risk on Hill, as he's 28 now and will start slowing down, which is critical to his game of course.

I know the picks matter, but it seems like so many of them don't turn out how expected, but that's understandable.

Lots of teams hoping they going to get some good first rounders, they're going to have to with what they're losing.
Yeah. As a Jets fan I'm a little concerned that the GM is seemingly banking so much on the draft. I'd not be happy with a character like Hill but he would have added a lot to a v thin offence. There was talk of trading for Ridley before his ban, or Metcalfe - but no dice.

It just means that they have to get a No. 1 WR with one of the two first round picks. Easier said than done.

Never a dull moment with the Browns.

Between us and Chiefs for Landry is what is rumoured. Clowney waiting to see what offers he gets and the OBJ thing seems weird but was mentioned last night by a current player.

Chiefs obviously have salary room for Landry now, but then they just got Smith-Schuster to replace Hill so do they need him?

They’ve lost a couple of other receivers too - Pringle and Robinson.

Lot of good receivers in the draft according to the experts so they might go down that route.

Edit - they have also added Valdes-Scantling now from Green Bay.

Yes true....shrewd move by the Bears to take Pringle. I'll look forward to watching him at Soldier Field next season.
