No Randy it's not. He is 2.7 at the minute, about 7/4 in old money. He will have to play in a confrontational atmosphere,something we don't know that he will handle.

There isn't even room for the price to contract for a trade out.

Yes plus some very searching press interviews that he will be contracted to hold during the tournament. He would have to have incredible resilience and focus to overcome the circumstances.

Of course he is incredibly driven. So it just makes you wonder how far down the rabbit hole he's gone. Clearly his views on vaccination are stronger than his drive to win another slam.

I often wonder who is advising him. He presumably has access to all sorts of medical experts. He "should" be better informed than most. Instead it feels like he spends all day believing everything he believes on dubious social media accounts.

You just have to see that YouTube video posted earlier in this thread about his views on “healing water” to understand how far down that rabbit hole he has gone.

Someone like that surrounds himself with sycophants. Anyone not telling him what he wants to hear will simply get sacked. He'll have a whole shedload of hangers on making a living out of him, not least his family.

I’m pretty sure its a kind of cultural thought in Serbia. It’s been widely commented that the younger generation of Serbs view Covid no more serious than as a cold and there is very little isolation when testing positive. Djokovic is a much stronger reflection of that cultural behaviour.

When did "error of judgement" become a valid excuse that makes everything okay? See politicians use it all the time to justify whatever scandal has most recently come to light.

Of course it's a F***ing error of judgement, that's the point (and usually the suspicion is the "error" they regret is getting caught out). That's why people are ***ed off.

These public figures use it as if it means "innocent mistake" (that anyone could make).

"Sorry I stabbed my neighbour to death. It was an error of judgement."

"Fair enough, off you go then".
 
Every time he tries to defend himself and clear up the "misinformation", he makes it worse. Did not self isolate when he had Covid, but it's Ok because wore a mask and only took that mask off for photo oppertunities. 🤡

The only reason it's taking so long to do the obvious thing is that the average person is not a multi-millionaire sports superstar with an army of fans around the world.

It shouldn't matter, but as ever, money talks.

After the first court ruling I'd imagine they want their decision to be watertight so they aren't made to look foolish if it gets overturned on another technicality.

Djokovic is obviously a massive nob but that's not a good reason to bar entry for a top sportsperson into one of the biggest tournaments.

Even the information emerging about the wrong boxes being ticked might not be enough to send him packing if it turns out that this sort of admin error is common and routinely dealt with by sensible border officials.

Had the border officials not rushed things in the first place I think he'd already be gone but the longer this runs the more likely it is that he'll get to play.

They'll be worrying about the longer term repercussions if they don't deport him and how that might play with the Australian public - should be an interesting few days.

Listen I’ve watched border force Australia and you get your b***ks wrapped for taking in an apple you were given on the plane - this fella is banged to rights ;-)

1. doesn’t meet entry criteria.
2. Happily mixes with others whilst allegedly having covid
3. Travelled to other countries in the prior two weeks before coming to Australia.

he is currently getting himself in knots trying to concoct a story taht fits with the sightings of him in public and taht also fits with what he has previously stated - or in short he is telling fibs!

the delay is due to the fact he has provided supporting information to point three. Let’s see.

I thought the Australian guy has a veto regardless - not sure why this has to become a legal matter!!
 
The whole thing stinks, what an idiot who deserves to be sent packing but probably wont. If he gets away with it will he use the same excuses to gain entry to the other Opens this year?
