NUFC

They’ll stay up fairly comfortably in the end simply because the league is such poor quality at the moment.
What a shocking way to run a club though, shows their level of ambition when they have left Bruce with the job for so long. Big clubs aiming for 17th every season is absolutely grim, if I supported them I would have lost any interest a long time ago. Must be a right kick in the teeth that former championship and league one clubs have caught up with them and are currently a long way ahead.
Not sure why their level of ambition should be any different to around 80% of clubs in that league, simply to survive. Their last decent side (Robson?) is around twenty years ago. Back then we were 12th in the PL and semis of FA cup - I don't hear anyone suggesting we should be back there now.

I'm not sure about the importance of being a "big club" either, I'd much rather be a small, successful one ;)

Longer Wilson stays crocked, the quicker Fulham will make ground on them.

They need Wilson back ASAP otherwise I can't see them picking up many points.

Fulham are playing quite well of late too and look defensively sound.

Next 2 weeks
Fulham face Burnley (A), Sheff Utd (H), Palace (A)
Newcastle face Man Utd (A), Wolves (H)

That 7 point cushion could easily become 2/3 points....then it's squeaky bum time.

And to top it all off, the last day fixture is Fulham v Newcastle!!

I tell you what, I watched Fulham play the other night against Everton and I saw some of their game against West Ham, Fulham are playing well and picking up points. In their last five games they have only lost once. Before the Everton game they just didn't look like scoring.

I didn't see any of Newcastle's win over Southampton (who are in the worst form of the PL - five straight defeats) but when I have seen them they have been awful.

This month Fulham have Burnley and Palace, Newcastle have Man Utd and Wolves...

It could be a lot closer than we think.

Next two games, away to Man Utd then a tricky one at home to Wolves. Fulham have Burnley and Sheffield United. They might only be separated by a point or two by March 1.

They're not a big club, and barring about 4 years under Keegan haven't looked like being one for about 60 years.

Big clubs win trophies, the skunks have won nowt except an invitation european trophy that isn't recognised by FIFA, the second tier league and the intertoto cup, in 65 years. They haven't won the league in NINETY-FOUR years.

They're a well supported middling club, with a bunch of second rate players, I struggle to think of the last real top quality NUFC footballer, that big clubs have wanted to sign, probably shearer and he was past his best 20 years ago.

NUFC.

The level of mediocrity we aspire to.
really? e actually won a trophy and played in a bunch of finals and signed a couple of world class players. We have had more success and shown more ambition than they have over the last 30 years. We might be on a downer right now, but I still wouldn't want to be a skunk fan

me neither mate, but lets not allow our collective hatred for all things black and white cloud our judgement here. Football didnt start 30 years ago.

Since our league cup win and European cup final appearance , we have steadily declined in ambition and achievement.

Their list of managers since 2020 has a few top level names in it, as well as some absolute duck eggs. We are pretty much the same.

I would still love to see them relegated

They have a huge fan base, a brilliant stadium but an owner that could not give a dam. I cannot believe that a new owner cannot see the potential. The likes of Wolves and Leicester have managed to get foreign owners who have invested and got them to push for stardom.
Ashley runs the club as a business, as far as I can see, which is a novel idea in football.

Owners by in large plough millions upon millions into clubs, with no financial return - I'm not sure 'investment' is accurate in though!

I still can’t believe Callum Wilson and Ryan Fraser signed for Newcastle. I know Fraser has hardly lit the place up, but still. Back to back relegation for them??

The one thing about Ashley you’ve got to Admire is he’s a good businessman . He has never bothered about on the field as long as they’re an asset off it and has been up front about it . When he flogs them he’ll make mega 10s if not 100s millions .
