This appointment if it proves to be true, isn't a new direction is it, more of the same, whatever his record of success....

Doesn't fit with Kieran Scott & our recent signings of Payero, Sporar & Siliki etc?šŸ¤”....

Not quite ā€œhoof ballā€ is it.
It is absolutely not hoof ball. The thread title is disingenuou. the Blades were one of the most attractive sides in the Championship when they went up a few years ago. Indeed they did that when they had the best defence in the League - they were 4th highest scorers.

Defensively just thinking how are current squad would fit into the Wilder overlapping CB's tactic

McNair would be one of the overlapping centre backs. I would assume Dael/Hall/Bamba when fit would be the sweeper then who as the other overlapping CB? Howson/Dijksteel? Jones/Bola LWB. Tavernier/??? RWB.

Think we need a left sided centre back before we go down that route. Bola could probably do it but then you would have to play Jones or Hernandez wing back and Iā€™m not sure that suits them. I think Wilder may go with 4 at the back to begin with and maybe go another way when he gets players in to suit his style. All speculation of course.
