O’Brien’s injury

The ref gave just a throw in but I thought the tackle was a very poor one and executed in a scissor movement giving O’Brien a painful clatter. If he fears the worst sounds like we have lost OBrien for the season.

I thought it was a dirty and deliberate tackle myself and deserved a yellow, one of a few they got away with. Wouldn't be surprised if he's broken a bone in his ankle.

I'd agree .. he knew it wasn't an attempt at the ball. It was frustration and petulant combined.
You'd have hoped a decent ref / lino would of worked it out... ???
Its no where near a red , but it's deliberate foul play

A deliberate foul that causes a bad injury is surely a red card 🤷‍♂️

We are 9 games into the season, and by my reckoning we have played 5 or 6 different people at left back. O'Brien looked far and away the best of them all.

VBD is not an attacking outlet. He is being asked to play in different positions, so I don't want to be critical of him. But if he starts there, we may struggle attacking-wise.

Did Isiah Jones play there in one of the cup games?

The ref was shocking. Coburn was getting fouled all the time. The first time the CB was all over him and the ref give a foul against him. The lad who scored the second should have been off after his attempt to cut Jones in half in the second half. He only just missed him with a high tackle, he got a yellow instead. The foul on O Brian was obvious, I can't believe the ref and lino never seen it that way.

Endangering an opponent and violent conduct however minor is a red.
He endangered an opponent he’s injured him, it was violent conduct because it was a frustrated kick out at him in an attempt to hurt him.

Ted get dished out for a push that was a red

I don't rate him at all, but if not VDB then it's got to be Coulson surely. At least he has championship experience and on what we've seen can probably do more of a steady job than Engel.
Agreed on that and I really do not rate Coulson.

Carrick wouldn’t move McGree there would he? Would be an insane decision with his current form but he’s played there already this season I think.

If we have to play VDB at left back, I’d like to see us switch Jones back to RB. We need one attacking full back with the way we play

How many Champo games has he got as left back in flat back four? Majority of his games for us were wingback and wing weren't they?
