Oasis reunion

Watch the last two minutes. It’s as far away as it’s ever been.
I get the feeling Noel wants it to happen and is trying to goad Liam into making the first move.

I think ultimately it's clear the issue is that they both still blame each other for the bands' demise, and because of that a reunion looks highly unlikely. They both probably want it to happen but neither of them are prepared to be the bigger man and make the first move.

I agree with Noel regarding Liam tweeting about it all the time though. A few months back, he posted to say that Noel had some apologising to do before they can get Oasis back together. Now he's back on Twitter claiming that it's going to happen in 2025. He needs to give it a rest.

I think there is a huge gap musically. Kids that want a bit of angsty rock, that hasn't been manufactured and packaged by their management doesn't really exist anymore. In fact there is a huge lack of real bands around right now, I guess the kids have to listen to stuff from 15-50 years ago. One thing I noticed at the riverside on Monday was just how many kids were there that would have been 0-6 years old when Whatever People.... came out. The influence of parents with a library of older music at their finger tips, and A&R people signing boy bands and record producers masquerading as musicians has made kids go for the older stuff.

One thing is for certain an Oasis reunion would have huge ticket demand, and a huge part of it would be 20 somethings too young to remember the first time.
Absolutely agree with all of that, there is so much in modern life that strangles natural creativity that's even before AI fully reveals itself.

I think we are all influenced by our parent's music in one way or another. My mum would regularly listen to Radio 1 and sing along to the records. These are some of my earliest memories of growing up in South Bank. My dad was more the crooners and would have Tony Bennet, Perry Como, Frankie Vaughan, Frank Sinatra, etc. In our early teens, both parents would buy us the latest singles and it's always been a standing joke that my mum went into Peter's Records (Eston) and asked for Uncle Tom by David Bowie. She came away with the correct single. ;)

The wife and I had a collective range of LP and singles, with mine being from Northern Soul, Motown, Stevie Wonder, Ska, Punk, The Stones, Springsteen, The Who, Dylan, Bowie, etc. and the wife being more Spandau Ballet, Duran Duran, Elton John and all the cringy pop songs.

I just wish my eldest son (36) would stop singing Lena Zavaroni's songs. 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣

The only reason I can see this being a good thing is that, as someone mentioned above, they are surprisingly popular with the kids of today who didn't get to see them in their prime. For me, part of the appeal of bands when they start out is that band of brothers, us against the world thing. When you see your former heroes going through the motions on stage for the money, stood next to band mates they hate I find it all quite sad.
