Impressive so far we have found some gems in Rogers,Engel and Rav.Senny has been excellent with good back up, Latte will keep improving as will silvera and greenwood looks good with a dangerous free kick.with the addition of a decent goalscorer and we get the squad fit we have a brilliant squad.

As above VDB and Dieng are great, Lath may get better but still looks like a headless chicken most of the time. Engel Im not sure is good enough, Bangura looks a better option when Ive seen him. Silvera is a league 1 player for me

I'm a big fan of latte lath, 7 goals in his first 20 appearences in a new/tougher leage is absolutely fair play in my opinion.

Don't agree with the headless checken comments one bit either. I think he's an absolute nuisance for defenders. Quick, strong and decent on the ball.

He isn't the best in the world hence why he plays for a champ club, but he's the signing and most excited at seeing more of.

The future is bright if we can keep hold of them.

We'll finish mid table this season though, they're too inconsistent to make the play offs, but with this year under their belt and working with Carrick, (and hopefully a better start to next season), I expect us to be right up there from the off next year. We need to keep Hackney and Rav as they're the ones other clubs will be sniffing around in the summer.

RVDB and Dieng are great signings for us and I think we are starting to see something from Rogers, although so far he seems to have shone more against poorer opposition, especially int the league cup. Jury is out on the rest.

Mostly disappointing. Dieng is a solid first teamer and has been a good buy so far. The rest, if they have been bought as investments with a chance of a £10m+ transfer fee in the future then I think there is only one (RVDB) that stands a chance. The rest will be moved on in a year or two for the same as we paid and a few of them will hang around as back-ups. Not big financial risks but we're not going to get big financial rewards either. Also, they aren't good enough to get us promoted which is where the real money is to be made.

I’ve seen enough to think most will come good. Silvera gets pelters for some high profile misses but he also has 4 goals and 3 assists already this season
2 league goals, 2 against cr@p opposition in the EFL Cup, his passing is awful and he can miss a barn door from 5 yards!

I think Rogers is an asset. He is inconsistent but I do feel with a fully fit squad he is a major impact player coming on. Lath is another good impact player. Dieng and VDB are upgrades for me from last season in those positions. Silveira shows flashes but not sure he is will be a long term asset like Rogers. Greenwood again useful as an impact player. Gilbert will be a league two player next year, Glover solid number 2,. The two left backs are solid but not world beaters. So I think it was good business, it is hard for them after losing 5 major players from last year and the injuries. I think the future is bright.

You can only beat what’s in front of you. It’s his first season in the league with a team mostly put together this year. In his second spell with us the most downing got was 3 in a season, Jones only got 3 last season, Tav only got 3 the season before he left. Not saying he’s going to be a club legend but he’s shown enough to show he can offer something

Downing and Tav were playing in different positions in different systems - not a fair comparison. For me Silvera hasnt shown anything in terms of passing, ability to beat a man, running off the ball to draw players away - none of it. And he's missed some absolute howlers! I just dont think he is or will be good enough - hope Im wrong!

Rogers was excellent against WBA, Preston, Coventry. Scored against Birmingham, created goals against Sunderland and Huddersfield with superb passes. Apart from Huddersfield, they were all top 8 championship teams immediately after we'd played them.
The idea he's only done it against poorer opposition is wrong diddly wrong wrong!
6 goals and 7 assists from only about 17 starts I think. Obviously been a success who will benefit the club.

Dieng has been a good signing at good value.
VDB looks very encouraging at CB.
Rogers has real ability and could develop into a very good player.

Greenwood has disappointed me as he has obvious talent.

I don’t rate Latte Lath. I think he will move on at a loss within 2 years. Our results with him starting are very poor.
Bangura may develop but he is a mile off right now.
Engel, Silvera and Gilbert are really poor recruits IMHO.

O’Brien was the calibre of signing we should have made, but sadly got injured.
Glover and Jones are what they are.

On top of Barlaser last Jan I think it was a very disappointing year of recruitment.
Our position is disappointing and I don’t see overall profit coming from the recruitment unless Rogers really kicks on (which he might)

Dieng is the outright success. RVDB and Rogers have shown enough that they will be considered a success next season, if not this season. ELL, playing in the toughest position, has shown glimpses and has huge potential due to his raw pace and power, but the jury is still out. Glover, has shown enough in his few games he will be more than adequate as a No 2. Greenwood doesn't appear to do enough throughout games, but then does produce some big moments.

Engel has done ok, had some shockers and had some good games, but even in those good games he has made some basic errors that thankfully weren't punished.

Don't think we've seen enough of the others to make an assessment, which in itself speaks volumes as we have hardly been able to put a team out!!

I'd say for the outlay, the recruitment has been a success. In the pond we are fishing in, you cant expect the majority of signings to be a hit.

This won't surprise you Indeedio, but I disagree with your assessment completely.

I don't think we can judge most of these players ability or potential until at least we have a full squad which enables rotation and possibly even further than this and into next season.
I find it slightly unfair to judge and write off players on A 'break through' season or A season where they are settling in(some from abroad) and playing at a higher level than previously while also playing playing 3 times a week without rotation because of major injury issues within the squad.
I think this time next year we will have a better idea of who has what it takes and if the investments where worthwhile.
