Paul Pogba Banned From Football For Four Years

There is no doubt Pogba is a huge talent but he's never constantly shown it to the levels you expected from a footballer of that calibre.

I don't think he will be such a miss to the footballing world.

He is now a very wealthy man shouldn't these cheats be hit financially like convicted criminal's are subject to proceeds of crime orders.

Would this mean the clubs are stripped of all honours won when he was doping too? ( i think they should be)
Yeah it's a tricky one isn't it? Don't know! Pretty rough on any clean players but then would that motivate clubs more to do their own screening?

And then you have the national team.... losing your world cup medal because some nob was doping. But obviously tough on players on the losing side if you don't 🤷

Found guilty of doping. Guess that’s his career finished.

Imagine spending your career doping only to be considered a waste of potential before being caught. Attitude of Zlatan, potential of Makelele, ability of Pogba.

What a moron.

Ignorance isn't an excuse either. If you're taking "supplements" when you're on 100-200k a week you're going to be damn sure to be checking what's in them, and it will be clearly listed on the label. If the supplements do not have the bad **** listed on the label then he would be able to show this, and also sue the manufacturer (which won't happen, as his line is BS of course).

I don't know what his defence was but my guess is it involves the substances being given to him, which he thought were legal and also him being told the wrong info, there's no label on packaging, and there's no receipts, as this is the line which is always tried and never works.

He had another 2 years on his contract too, so working back from September it's probably cost him £25m, ouch.

He'll have to go and play in Russia, they won't care and they'll give him better drugs.
That is an interesting thought and you could add China, Saudi to the list but I think that ultimately countries like that want to be part AFC/UEFA and FIFA and have a chance of national glory from getting to the finals or hosting them and so wouldn't want to become pariahs in world football by breaching sporting regulations so blatantly.

Those having a go would be amazed at how lax some players are when it comes to taking stuff given to them by club doctors and medical staff. Pogba will be absolutely slaughtered for this but I’ve always thought most players operating at that top level will be taking all sorts of stuff. It’s catching them, or actually actively trying to catch them through investment in people and services, that’s where the problem lies. I think football likes to pretend it’s above this stuff but it just can’t be. The rewards are too great for it not to be rife.
