PCR tests required for Spain?

Hopefully flying out end of this month. Wife and I double vaccinated , kids 16 and 8. What is required going out and coming back? A few grey areas depending on what you read. Was hoping someone been out to Spain/balearics recently and knows craic. Flying with EastJet.

Friend of ours went through all this a few weeks back. Paid for the tests and had them done, got out to Spain no problem. Returning was another problem, the tests didn't have a recognised reference number so not allowed on the flight and had to pay for more tests.

The incompetent PCR testing company cost an additional flight plus additional tests, no refunds available

Chumocracy can be very costly

For the day 2 and day 8 test do you have to prove you have purchased them or something before you fly home?

I've been recommended these for when we go in August to Spain

https://www.confirmtesting.com/ (10% new customer discount code)

It will be the three of us 2 adults both double jabbed and our 12 year old son, so I think we need the following, as well on the forms we need to fill in.

1 x PCR test before flying for the young un + proof of vaccination for me and the Mrs
3 x Antigen tests within 72 hours of flying back
3 x Booked PCR tests to take on day 2 of arrival home

Not checked anything yet as still not convinced Spain won't either end up on the red list or stop us from arriving.

Someone needs to get rich somewhere along the line.

Why do the tests have to come from a private company? Why aren't the NHS tests sufficient?
Grant Shapps said this morning that they didn't want to burden the NHS with tests so people can go on holiday. Probably the right decision when we are looking at upward of 100,000 infections a day in a few weeks.

Or they could use the lateral flow tests?

Grant Shapps doesn't give a toss about the NHS much like the rest of his colleagues.

As I said, somebody somewhere is making a lot of money.

I think from what I read lateral flow is sufficient to come back in, but they have to be accompanied by a certificate, which rules out using one of the 10 boxes I've got at home.

100%, also doesn't answer the question as to why the test are multiple times cheaper on the continent that in the UK. Did they honestly think we wouldn't find out? Of course not, they just don't give a 5hit while they're getting rich.

The difference between the continent (government for the people) and here (government of the people, often at their expense!) is absolutely staggering and I'm constantly amazed more people don't think we could have it better.

Wait until the news comes out next month about the lateral flow tests no longer been free. The government are exploring the possibility of charging for them as we speak.
