PItch invaders

The two yobs who invaded the pitch after Boro scored against Birmingham appeared in court today. They described themselves as 'doyles' and giggled throughout when shown the video of their behaviour.

As expected they got a slap on the wrist, a fine, and a 4 year ban. Then, as they left the court they put two fingers up whilst laughing at the cameras. This behaviour we are all used to seeing now. Why did they not take them back into the court and charge them with contempt of court and lock them up for a few weeks? Maybe then they will show some respect?

God help us all if this is how law and order is respected, or not, in this country.

are 'life bans' ever enforced? how can they be?!
I don't know how tickets are sold for regular matches, but for cup games I need to use my MFC account - I assume it's a similar process, given that you can't pay on the turnstiles.

Judges living in Ivory Towers. Fining two unemployed 'doyles' who cannot and will not pay is a joke. Bit of enforced work would have more impact, especially wearing pink overalls.

What contempt of court?

And why were reporters loitering outside for these 'Doyles' to come out. Are there no serious crimes being tried at the moment?

This is where we fail. The law is so soft with as much emphasis on the needs of the perpetrator as the victim. ‘Yuman rites’ etc. Ok so it wasn’t the crime of the century but sticking fingers up and laughing is not exactly expressing remorse so a short sharp shock would produce more reflection of their behaviour I’m sure. They will probably attend games and then put their photos on Facebook to show their utter contempt and lack of remorse.

Even stupid, thick doyles will now think twice about running on the pitch. Might take a few more life bans for it to sink in. Good message to send out.
