plantar fascia

"The plantar fascia is a band of tissue, called fascia, that connects your heel bone to the base of your toes. It supports the arch of the foot and absorbs shock when walking.

Tension and stress on the fascia can cause small tears. Repeated stretching and tearing of the facia can irritate or inflame it, although the cause remains unclear in many cases of plantar fasciitis."

plantar fasciitis is what Riley has apparently

I've had that, its ruddy painful. Best wishes me Aussie mucker (y)
Yeah I have had it myself.
Its like stepping on a nail at times
I used to tape my foot up as advised by the various medical sites and did the standing on the bottom stair and stretching the achilles very regulary.

6 to 8 weeks for me beofre I could really get going again, but I guess its how soon it was diagnosed, I continued with the 'treatment' long after it had gone away.

Its very painful .
I wear insoles which support my arch and lifts my heal . It Then keeps it away for the most part .
I would hope Riley would be fit within a matter of weeks rather than months , with all the physio help the club will be giving .

I’ve got it currently in my left foot. It’s bizarrely fine most of the day while I’m moving, but the second I sit down **** me do I know about it when I stand up to start moving again. Getting up for a pee in the middle of the night isn’t fun.

Very painful.

I was in South East Asia the first time I experienced this and thought I had been bitten by something.

They are saying anything between 2 weeks and many weeks at the club. Very unspecific but no one is saying "Next season."

Same, I had it for nearly a year and it's only cleared up in the last few weeks. Sitting down for over two minutes made me walk like I had just had a prosthetic leg fitted once I got up.

I took to wearing flip flops/pool shoes around the house like slippers and it helped a lot.

14 months in with it. Not shifting. Cortisone injections soon.

Slippers in the house, and trainers with arch support. helps stop the immediate pain. As has stopping wearing converse, and chelsea boots at work.

I've had it a couple of times.
Overcome(eventually) with leg stretching exercises.
Important to wear shoes with proper sole support to prevent (and decent slippers in the house).

Had it a couple of times. It's very difficult to fix as you are constantly aggravating it whenever you walk. A pro footballer can probably focus on rest without worrying about going shopping, cooking his tea, etc but he'll lose conditioning fairly quickly.

Horrendous. I’ve got it in my right foot, had it for over 6 months. I Recently got recommended to get a Frozen 2L coke bottle and roll foot over and over it and to use a massage gun on the foot every night. This has started to ease it, fingers crossed it’s coming to an end.
