Pleased for Sunderland for one reason only.

Can you imagine how sickening it will be if we get to Wembley and they beat us.

Seeing Mowbray celebrating with their fans. We would never live it down.
I have still never watched any match highlights from the playoff defeat against Norwich.

What a complete no show. I remember walking out of the ground more fuming than gutted.

Yet the same thing happing against 'them'. Simply couldn't handle it. Yet I guess the flip side is beating them at Wembley and watching those tears 😂

Sunderland have nothing to loose. No one expected them, even with a fit team to be in contention. They have a free lottery ticket.….but the Boro know the numbers in advance 😀😀😀

Yes good point, I guess both Sland and Cov have nothing to lose - coming in with unexpected late runs. Prob more pressure on us given time in the league and high expectations built up over the last few months.

Considering 4/5 games ago I thought they would be no where near the Play Offs, they have done well to grind out those results.

If someone offered me Sunderland in the Play Off final now, I'd take it.

Mowbray is not a legend, he is a chunt. The way he smirked as Blackburn manager when interviewed about the Dael Fry assault after that infamous game was disgraceful. No time for the man. He may get his day in the sun at Wembley, but he’ll get no congratulations from me.

I don’t particularly like him either

**** Sunderland.
**** Mowbray.

* Admittedly, I’m too young to fully understand the adoration from our fans, as I only started following Boro during his last season, when I was still a nipper. He’s often come across as a bit of a tosser when managing teams against us, imo. It’s much easier to face up to these feelings now he’s managing the Makems 😬

Then you don't really understand this club and its history. Board royalty or not.

What do you think he doesn't understand?
Mowbray was a solid Championship level centre back who held a mostly young bunch of local lads together during the liquidation. He was an inspirational captain for 2 seasons. He then left and generated a decent fee.
His time as manager here was at a very difficult time. He did pretty well for a couple of years on low budget, then 2013 saw us lose 19 of 33 league matches and amass 24 points, before he was rightly sacked in late October.

I can't speak for Coluka, but is there something I am missing?

Board Royalty 🫅 👀 🤣 I don’t think so and there’s loads on here will agree that I’m nowt of the sort, nobody is. I’m definitely marmite and I am comfortable being so thanks.

As for not understanding the club and its history then that particular comment makes you a bit of a board 🤡. Legend status is far too easily attributed to people and often for the wrong reasons. Indeedido summed his Boro periods up fairly accurately, the only other thing I’d add is he did leave a solid base for Karanka to build on, but thanks for your insight.

Yep.

I have a lot of time for mogga, I was there last year for the unveiling of the statue for George camsell and it spoke volumes that despite being a current league manager and fir one of our local rivals Tony Mowbray was there ( more than wilder did btw way).

I spoke to him as did many that night, I shook his hand and he was great affable chatting away about the old days with bernie, proc and pally etc and you could tell that night meant a lot to him.

So Yes he might currently be employed as the Sunderland manager but this will always be his town and and we will always be his club.

No animosity towards Mogga whatsoever. 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

Boro legend, sadly managing the great unwashed up the A19. He'll end up getting sacked and be welcome back at the Riverside shortly 👍
