Popular bands you dislike

The Beatles over rated? In what world.
 
One thing this thread proves is that being really popular makes you really unpopular. Pretty much without exception if anyone discovered any of the bands or artists mentioned as complete unknowns they'd think they were the dogs b***ks.

Definitely true that U2 went steeply downhill after the Joshua Tree mind. Before that a fantastic band.

Edit-I've just reread the thread and actually some of the bands mentioned are actually terrible in any context...

My 83 year old Mam loves them and my 13 year old son totally loves them. Says it all for me. Changed not only music forever but the entire culture of the world.
 
In terms of the beatles i am not a fan of their early stuff at all but with every album they matured the production values on their later albums were truely groundbreaking with George Martin theres some fantastically innovative work like a day in the life.

The rolling Stones were another band that went past me until i listened to the sticky fingers album and to me its one of the best rock albums of all time.

To me U2 are hated for what they became and bono for being bono as much as their music.
