I'd be happy if we only made one or two additions to the squad. Maybe Carrick could use his Utd links and we could look into bringing in couple of Utd youngsters until the end of the season. They must have some talent in their U23s.
I've started to wonder if the the talented youngster on loan is really an effective way to proceed.
Even if they have talent, and go on to prove it later in the their careers (as Nmetcha and Balogan are arguably doing), it's no guarantee that they'll do it for us, just because it's a lower level than their parent club.
He’s called Hayden Hackney.I think a talented youngster could be the icing on the cake, our problem has been expecting them to be the entire cake, and the answer to all our problems.

Depends on how experienced they are. Bamford and Giles both had plenty of loan experience before us. Balogun and Nmecha were on their first loan. An 18 year old kid who has basically never played senior football before is exactly the wrong person in January where you need someone to make an immediate impact.

I felt it was a mistake to sign Bolasie, NML and Kebano, as Warnock spent the remainder of the season looking for a way of accommodating them all into the side. We only needed to sign one of them.Warnock’s woes were more down to the injuries to Fry and Tavernier our squad was paper thin, yes our gambles with Bolasie and NML didn’t pay off.. but I think we would have needed them to win the playoffs.
Wilder’s man management was pure pish.. covered up by Peltier and Bamba and as much as I’d have kept Hernandez over Connolly it wouldn’t have changed what unfolded.
No gambles on drug addicts or pish
heads or pally fanny connoisseurs.. and we should be ok
I’ve said before 3 or 4 players to replace fringe players will see us right and I think bringing in players known to lads in our squad will help.
Dan Barlaser to replace Massimo Luongo has played with Giles and Crooks for Rotherham
Jan Paul Van Hecke (if Paddy McNair leaves) has played with Lenihan and Giles at Blackburn.
Ben Brereton Diaz (if Rodrigo Muniz is recalled) is ex Man Utd academy, can play on the left and has played with Lenihan, Giles & Van Hecke.
Nice little promotion graft..
Think Diaz's next stop will be the prem.Dan Barlaser ticks all the boxes for me
experienced, talented, local, played with existing players
as far as a replacement for Rodrigo Muniz goes I’d avoid Cameron Archer, Ellis Simms
Ross Stewart would be a canny addition 26yo with three seasons at Sunderland.. just a short trip down the road bringing in decent numbers for a small fee
the left sided attacker I’d try and go for Ben Brereton Diaz over a Man Utd loan player.. easier said than done but I think he would be cheaper and more effective than Victor Gyökeres.
Three or four players that could replace fringe players and bring the group closer in with shared experiences and shared game time.

Barlaser would be a better fit than Luongo.. plus if Crooks is our new number 9 we’re even lighter in midfield.I felt it was a mistake to sign Bolasie, NML and Kebano, as Warnock spent the remainder of the season looking for a way of accommodating them all into the side. I can't remember Fry being injured but I also can't remember us signing a CB at the time but I could have gotten that wrong.
If we genuinely bring in players who come in as fringe players to begin with, with the plan being that they have to earn their place in the side, then I could accept that. What I don't want to happen is for players to come in and be thrown straight into the side, which could potentially unsettle players. It happened last season under Wilder, when he threw Connolly straight into the team in place of Watmore.
Chuba will want to stay, prem clubs won’t take the risk. I can see a bit of a striker merry go round including Simms, Stewart, Muniz, Archer, Yates, Khadra, Gyökeres, Brereton Diaz, Surridge and Clarke-Harris..Thoughts on all this ballox surrounding Chuba?
Reporters gaggling about Southampton, Everton++++
We have a year extention option.
Hope he tells the sniffers to foxtrot oscar.
Have the feeling Michael Carrick wont want to give away our best players.![]()
Where are they in the assist list?I do agree about that they shouldn't be the cake though; where are the loanees in the top scorers list? I think Ellis Simms was the top scoring on loan player (7 goals), with 19 players scoring more than him.
