Are you joking?? Sunderland knew Adam Johnson was being investigated and continued to play him. He kept them up. You may say innocent until proven guilty but I prefer Everton’s approach. Sunderland should’ve been dragged through the mud much more than they were.
I think the issue is, given the way media is shared so rapidly, so uncontrollably and so extensively these days, is that there should be a presumption of innocence until proven otherwise.
Oh I agree with that, however the press are always going to report this, it's juicy sod the rights and wrongs of it.
And there's the rub with the premise; the press can be vital in shining a light on wrongdoing, but the fundamental drive with any media outlet is their circulation, so responsible, objective and balanced reporting is very hard to find.

Why? It’s all over the internet. Police have reported a 31 year Everton player has been arrested. He’s the only one who’s 31 (I think) and he’s taken down all social media….. at no point am I putting anyone at risk on this board.
