I know the USA has 6, due to Alaska and Hawaii.Which country has the most time zones?
Got asked this in a quiz last week. Your 2nd bit of reasoning is right but the answer is surprising. Due to its territories abroad its France.I know the USA has 6, due to Alaska and Hawaii.
If any country beat this logically it would have to be due to being absolutely huge (Russia) or having tiny little island enclaves dotted about (former empires such as the UK etc)
Once ascertained that Russia does not have 7 time zones or more to beat the US, it could only have been France, the UK or Spain really as they'd be the only 3 to have so many far-flung outposts.Got asked this in a quiz last week. The difference is that other colonial nations currently regard their overseas territories as just that, oversees territories. France regards them as dejuro parts of France itself. This leads to quirks like France having the Most time zones, the longest domestic flight in the EU being Paris to Reunion and the largest forest in the EU being the Guiana Amazonia national park.Once ascertained that Russia does not have 7 time zones or more to beat the US, it could only have been France, the UK or Spain really as they'd be the only 3 to have so many far-flung outposts.

That's like something off 3-2-1 with Ted Rogers - what is the answer?Odd one out round. Show them pictures of Joe Strummer, John Peel, Chris Rea and Captain Sensible. One point each for identifying who they are. Two points for identifying the odd one out. Four points for identifying the reason (with a bit of discretion to hand out 1-3 points if they make a good attempt).
