Gosh. What a Boro legend. Of that great Team of 73-74 we have lost Willie Maddren, Bobby Murdoch and now David Armstrong.

Really sorry to hear this news about Spike.
He had an amazing left foot, always full of energy in midfield, and for such a slight player it was amazing that he did not miss a match for Boro for over 7 years. And that was a time when tackles were tackles!

Oh man, no. A true legend, one of my all time heroes. 67 is no age.
I will never forget how David and his band of brothers got me hooked on football, hooked on Boro and gave me the best years of football I have ever witnessed from a team in a Boro shirt.

Didn't realise how young he was in that 73/74 season, 5 years older than me making him 18/19 at the time, we all know how good he was but at that age.RIP

Gutted by this news. As many of you have said that team in 1974 got me hooked on the Boro. Sad day. Thoughts go out to his family and friends. Thanks for the memories Spike.
