I've got to go 6;

We are considerably weaker than at the end of last season. However, I accept that is inevitable when you move from building your team around ready made loan starters, to a more sustainable model of developing young players. It's more a case of moving on from the short termism of last season.

A shame Chuba had to go, but it was the right decision; we'd never have been able to replace him for nothing in the Summer

I said before we'd be able to really judge how recruitment had gone by November. I think it may take longer given the youth of our signings.

I've gone for an optimistic 7, over the entire window..
we're much weaker than the team we ended last season with, just don't see any chance of automatic promotion & playoffs is 5th or 6th spot push at best, IMHO..

Keepers I'm fine with & certainly better than we had over previous signings..
A few of the new lads look to have potential & I'm fine with that, most are young & hopefully some will really progress..
ELL if he settles in & gets some quality service could have a good season, not Chuba good, though a decent double figure return..

Josh needs to be given game time & I can see him getting many late runs, last 10-15 of games which will hopefully be enough to progress his game, esp with more Rockliffe time too..

Most Championship teams don't have the finances to pay - ridiculous - PL sized contracts for players that do little more than train, sit on the bench & shoot clips for their social media platforms, so realistic signings & a couple of loans is fine..

Depends how you view it, no one can deny this squad is significantly weaker than last seasons and we haven’t come close to replacing Archer, Akpom, Ramsey.
You can deny it on a like for like if you look at the same stage last season, when we hadn’t got the Villa pair and Akpom was still perceived to be an “if anyone’s daft enough to take him I’ll drive him there myself” player on here.

disappointed to be honest we seem to have a much weaker team than we did in May I was confident that we would improve on last year even Akpon would stay, which in hindsight was maybe a bit unrealistic, anyways still hoping the new signings come good O'Brien sounds like a really good signing and Lath looks decent so not all bad :)

I don't see how we can score it yet, a lot of the players we've barely seen. I admire the intention and think we're taking a pragmatic sustainable approach, so in terms of how happy I am with the squad positions we've covered I'd say a 7 (I would have liked a striker and another defensive option RB/CB, but you surely can't complain with the number of bodies brought into the squad).

Whether the new players make us stronger or weaker it's too early to say as I haven't seen most of them.

It would be lower than 7 if we had any say over the loan players leaving and had more of a chance of keeping Akpom.

For me O’Brien will be the key signing I think he’ll add so much to the midfield.

I've gone 7. If we had signed all of the players we had and kept Chuba it would have been a high 9 but he is a big loss.

How can 23% give it an 8
Signed 12 players but how many are championship ready? Latte-Lath, Dieng. O'Brien
I scored a 6 because i don't know the capabilities of the players we've signed, and not convinced about some i've seen.

We need to get promoted as quickly as possible. IMHO we are far less likely to do so this season with the impact of this window.
No part of our first team is stronger than when we were mounting our charge on the top 2 last season.
3 GK, 2 LB, 1CB, 1CM, 4 AM, 1CF.
The squad is huge, yet obviously still weak in some positions.
There are so many players for the 3 behind a CF, Christ knows when a first team will ever emerge.
O'Brien and Dieng really are the only players I would expect to be successes.
There appears absolutely no pathway to the bench let alone first team for the academy lads, either that or there will be a glut of senior players never involved on a matchday.

The swathe of permanent new signings are obviously viewed as having potential, but they are low cost gambles.
It is very much quantity over quality, an approach I don't think gets you seriously involved at the top end.
I hope all the new lads do well and we have a belter of a season.
It could happen, but I wouldn't bet a pound on it.

The football we played from Jan to April last season was the most enjoyable I have seen since relegation in 2009.
It also got us very very close to promotion and much brighter possibilities.
I would have gone for more quality, less quantity, but that's not been the path.

I predict anywhere from 7th to 16th. The bookies have us about right at 11th.
Will we end the season thinking we have the basis of a promotion charging squad to fine tune for season 2024-25?
Or will we looking at a lot of players that simply haven't developed because they're not good enough?

When you buy/loan 19, 20 and 21 year olds its likely no one has heard much about them.

Who had heard of Aaron Ramsey of Villa - this time last year - I suspect 0% on this board.

Archer had only half a season on loan at Preston - certainly not "oven ready"

Giles one season on loan at Cardiff and Blackburn - the loan at Blackburn judged as not a success - I don't think either club was heavily fighting us for him.

All three significantly developed with the Boro? I would say yes.

The loan ones that were deemed oven ready by posters - Muniz, Steffan and Mowatt were not really a success.

I don't think this will happen every time, but it shows its hard to predict for us fans who will succeed and who will not.

Time will tell. It's impossible to say at this stage how well exactly our new additions will do, especially when they gel.

Right now if pushed, I'd be inclined to go for a 7, but that could be as low as a 5 or as high as a 9 by December, when we've witnessed the proof of the pud.

Also there's some good points in here, but I'd deem Steffen to have a been a success given the way we were set up. Mowatt was fairly steady if not spectacular, an ideal squad player.

I’ve gone with a 7. First few games so many new players to gel together is not easy. Hopefully by mid October/November we will have a better idea of how these signings are really coming together. Last season after 5 games we only had 3 points, todays the 5th game of this season, a win today we have 4 points that’s an improvement on last season, hopefully we continue to improve 🤞
Looking at the new players we have signed I would hope this could be a settled team.

Carlos de Pena - Alex Gilbert
Jordan Rhodes - Josh Coburn
Julien De Sart - Lewis O'Brien
Tomáš Kalas - Alex Bangura

Gastón Ramírez - Well.. we signed a few in January didn't we

I'm happy with it. Big overhaul, but clearly having one eye on the future while making sure we can compete in the meantime. Shame t, that is the only negative as far as I'm concerned. Now it's all about seeing how we perform when the players have had a bit more time training and playing togther.
I've gone for 5 simply because a lot of them are unknown qualities. Outside of O'Brien and Dieng they've got limited experience of Championship football so the jury is definitely still out on them.
Well probably be better placed to rate this windows business in January or even next summer.

Gone for a six. 12 players in, 5 out. When you consider the loans from last season, only a slight increase in numbers, but would consider the first 11 to be weaker knowing how well last year’s team did.
Carrick will have to adjust how we play and probably won’t score as many goals but hopefully get us challenging for the playoffs during the season.
