Iā€™ve gone 7 prob may be an 8 but still alot of of unknown quantities that weā€™ll only really know if theyā€™ve worked in the coming weeks.

I still think we were a little short on what we fully wanted esp up front but overall we canā€™t complain.

It all comes out in the wash as they say. Lots of players in but is it quantity over quality perhaps or style over substance maybe?

I'm happy with it. Big overhaul, but clearly having one eye on the future while making sure we can compete in the meantime. Shame to lose Chuba, that is the only negative as far as I'm concerned. Now it's all about seeing how we perform when the players have had a bit more time training and playing togther.

I went 8. Obrien will make a massive contribution in my opinion. The front of the team are pretty much unproven but they will only get better. They have created as many chances if not more than the opposition have. Just need a bit more composure. We have loads of options now in this area of the pitch.

Depends how you view it, no one can deny this squad is significantly weaker than last seasons and we havenā€™t come close to replacing Archer, Akpom, Ramsey.

But long term we do have some great prospects at the club, just hope the manager and players are actually given time and not expected to immediately replicate last season.

Gone for 6, good but we really needed another RB and Striker

5 for me. Our (bottom of the table) team looks full of potential. But we've been here before and potential doesn't always fulfil
It doesn't look nearly as good as the finishing team of last year, quality wise.

On the brightside, we have brought in a number of players that could step up. This season may not be a lot of top 6 fun, but there's a longer term potential

7 right now, will rise as the players develop.
Yep exciting to have a new bunch of young players. Need to get some results though and climb the table in Sept/Oct so their heads don't drop. If this happens and I really hope it doesn't then this will be a big test of Carrick to keep the young lads positive.

Weā€™ve ā€œlostā€ ~40 goals and ~15 assists.

We have brought in players with lots of potential, but until that potential demonstrates it can replace the goals and assists of Akpom, Archer & Giles, I canā€™t go higher than a 2 out of 10.

*Note - I donā€™t necessarily blame the club. Some of the ā€œlossā€ we have incurred was from players who never belonged to us in the first place and the price to make them ours was obviously too much for a club that is now financially restrained for a variety of reasons.

Not sure how I feel about it, there is obviously a move to getting in ' bargain' players with lots of potential which if it comes of and is sustained could see the club become a little bit more successful on the pitch than the last 14 years excluding AK and to become self funding
with players moving on for bigger fees than they came in for , but it also feels that in real time the club are undercooked at the beginning of the season, because they are playing a waiting game like the last season which leads to us playing catch up. I'm not going to give a mark now but I might bump ithis thread t later ( Xmas) . I have a feeling I could be giving a 8 or 9, it's strange but of all the players we bought in attacking ones etc it is a slightly defensive roaming midfielder which is the one getting me most excited.

Still think the Chuba fee was far too cheap, for a Championship player of the year with almost 30 goals last season. Ross Stewart has ended up going for a similar fee. He also had one year left on his contract and he's had 2 serious injuries recently and not played for months!

Perhaps Ross Stewart was open to signing a new deal, but the offer was too good to turn down.
I suspect we took what we could because the alternative was get nowt in 12 months time.

Iā€™m on the fence until Iā€™ve seen them all. But honestly, our net spend is Ā£3m, is that right? And weā€™ve bought 10 new players, plus Oā€™Brien who I think might have a real impact, player like that is just what we need.

Thatā€™s not a bad return at all for half a squadā€™s worth of exciting potential.

According to SSN Stewart had refused to sign a new contract. I think one difference between his sale and Chubas is Sunderland sold to a rival. So the rival will always have to pay a premium for a player. Where as we sold to Ajax who are in a different league to us in more ways than one.

It's really tough to call at the moment, because we have lots of exciting potential, but it's unknown how well they'll do over the course of this season and beyond.

Given how big the rebuild was I have to say I think we've done well build the squad and team back up; all the signings that have played look to have some potential and I think its unrealistic and unfair to measure this current team against last seasons, as that included around Ā£50m worth of PL standard talent. Our success in this respect is an east stick to beat us with.
