Former Northern Echo Boro reporter Ray Robertson has passed away at the age of 92. I am fortunate to have had many conversations with Ray over the years. He told me that he began as a reporter covering the great amateur side of the 1950s/60s Bishop Auckland.
He was at Ayresome Park for Jack Charlton's Champions and John Neal's so nearly men.
Ray had some amazing stories to tell from covering the 1966 World Cup to watching some of the greats for and against Boro and Bishop Auckland
RIP.
