Reading Festival 2000...

A lot of future headliners on that 2000 line-up.

Foo Fighters, Blink 182, Eminem, RATM, Muse. Saw QOTSA in 2014 on the main stage, they're just about on that poster!

I think I will have saw QOTSA in 2000, was listening to them a lot after I had heard Lost art of keeping a secret and Feel good hit of the summer, both came out before Reading I think.

Can't remember what time they were on, but think it was late, think I probably saw Beck, or half of it and missed Pulp, never been keen on the latter.

I went to Reading in 1992, what a weekend it was, pished down but blooming wonderful. This was the line up

I went to Leeds leg in 2000 but this Reading in 1992 as a 17 year old (on the coach from the Town Hall). Friday and Saturday weren't bad weather wise but ***ed down overnight and most of Sunday so was a quagmire on the Sunday. PIL were replaced by EMF I think which wasn't as bad as it sounds.

Ironically, dropped my 17 yo daughter off at the station at 7 this morning to set off for Reading.

Some line up that shíts on this year's glasto

Yes but to be fair this years Glasto line up equally makes this years Reading line up a bit "thin". Age and music tastes change anyhow so comparing any festival line ups 22 years apart is pretty invidious.

My first Reading Festival, First day was great, had the Bleach album by Nirvana and they played a lot from Nevermind which wasn't out yet (neither was Teen Spirit). Blur were good, right down the bill the next day, can't remember much about day 3..

Always interesting to look back at these old line-ups and see where bands are now. 2000 had the Britpop feel with Nu-metal starting to influence. When Rage are that far down the bill you must have some big names booked. Elliott Smith on one of the other stages too.
