Madrid also not really Spanish in terms of their playing staffI always find that a silly argument to come out with.

No, but I mean I’m not Spanish myself so why does it matter? I feel “kinship” with neither. The suggestion from Norm was that I should support the English club over the Spanish club, presumably because I’m English.Madrid also not really Spanish in terms of their playing staff
Support Espanyol?I think Barca recently fielded a side with not one Spanish player. What kind of message does that send a young lad looking to push all his youthful energy to get into the local team?
Am sure Chelsea have done that here too haven’t they?I think Barca recently fielded a side with not one Spanish player. What kind of message does that send a young lad looking to push all his youthful energy to get into the local team?
If you're 5 miles from Etihad are you sure Man City is your local team?I live around five miles from the Etihad. Unless you follow the Boro, support your local team. City.
They’re hosted in Manchester but they don’t feel remotely “English” to me. I associate them far more with Abu Dhabi, just as I do NUFC with Saudi Arabia.
The Spanish are not doing the things the Middle East are doing to women/gays etc.

If neither are English I’ll support the corrupt outfit that set the most reasonable laws (if you go along with the idea that Real Madrid are basically protected by the monarchy).
Ok. So it’s Abu Dhabi v USA/Spanish monarchy. As I said above, I’m none of these nationalities, so I will go with the regime that I think has the least oppressive laws.English fans, several English players, playing in an English stadium in an English league. For about 150 years.
Real Madrid are heavily backed by US investors. As terrible as the homophobia and misogyny can be in Islamic countries I'm not sure that the US human rights record is any better than any middle eastern country. In fact it's probably worse.
Well it’s just my honest opinion. They don’t feel very English to me (and neither do a few other clubs). I’m not making a statement I believe to be factual, it’s just how I feel. I don’t expect you to feel the same way if you don’t want to.I haven't suggested you should support the English team because you are English, I just think the argument (They’re hosted in Manchester but they don’t feel remotely “English” to me.) you put forward is a little churlish.
And it is my opinion that your statement is childish.Well it’s just my honest opinion. They don’t feel very English to me (and neither do a few other clubs). I’m not making a statement I believe to be factual, it’s just how I feel. I don’t expect you to feel the same way if you don’t want to.
What is “childish” about it? You said churlish above. Make your mind up before you try and draw me into yet another argument with you at least. And it is my opinion that your statement is childish.
If you read the first post you will notice I changed it in the original post (predictive text on the phone). What is “childish” about it? You said churlish above. Make your mind up before you try and draw me into yet another argument with you at least.
No one else has said “childish” or “churlish”, so I just wanted you to explain that. And why you didn’t use those terms towards Otto.If you read the first post you will notice I changed it in the original post (predictive text on the phone).
I'm not trying to draw you into any argument and have never done it in the past, it is called chatter on a message board.
Edit: It is funny others have called you out on this but it is me who is drawing you into an argument.
