Anyone else think we have one of the worst in world football?
I honestly would scout for free for the club, send me all the over the world and I would find better players than this shower of shight we have signed this season.
I'm just really downhearted again. Seems like the same pattern just emerges season after season. Something has got to give.
Who will scout with me?

It’s dead easy criticising from the comfort of your armchair as you play fantasy premier league and draft in your cream of the league at the click of a button.

Can just see you packing your duffle bag and tracking through the dense jungle of the Mongabay trying to persuade an African protege to move to the rich pastures of Teesside.
 
I'm sure I if given the job is be able to sign better than Morgan Rodgers lukas Engel, Sammy Silvera and latte Lath with going on 10 million quid
 
Sounds like somebody has won the Premier League on Footy Manager with Man City by signing all the Wonderkids after using FM Scout ..

Obviously some posters on here can't see past my pain and suffering of being a pessimistic/ realistic boro fan. I just get frustrated gents that's all, I'm not a bad guy, I just want the best for middlesbrough and if that means me going to Senegal on a October night for free to spot a potential "mane" then so be it 😂.
Anyway I'm off to enjoy the last of the sun and a few ales 🍺.
 
Recruitment this sumber seems to be a collection of hopeful punts - looking at what's come in I'd say we'll do well to recoup back half of our initial outlay. Making one or two speculative shots in the dark is fine but when you basically make all of your permanent signings unproven at this level shots in the dark it really is a huge gamble. I think it would have been far more sensible to make the majority of the new players coming in ones who know the league and can slot in seamlessly, whilst having maybe a couple of young punt type signings who can be eased in gently instead of being thrown straight under the bus. We had four youngish lads playing on Saturday who are totally new to this country and this league, it's really a huge ask to think they're all going to hit the ground running - it's no surprise we are where we are when you think about the massive change to the side since last season .

Our squad is MUCH stronger than last season.. the nee guys are showing promise straight away. We have an issue at right back.. but this squad will fly.. don’t think we had a 2nd string last season tbh

Early days yet bud. I think some of the signings could still be very good buys.
Recruitment hasn't been terrible in last few years, definitely a few hits, either because of performances, profit or both. Tav, Spence, Akpom, Lenihan, Jones, Traore, Forss.
 
I wouldnt mind "scouting" - going back to Lima about January / February time: some good lads play for Universitario, Alianza and Sporting Crystal.
Not only that, but it gets up to 40 degrees by the Pacific coast at that time. You can also sit out in Miraflores Square, T-shirt and shorts, watching Football UK in snow, cold and the rain (y)

Akpom produced more than Latte and Rogers combined

Engel is weaker than Giles.

This is not a stronger squad.

That'll be because he played 42 games last season while Latte Lath has played 4, and Rogers has played 5.

If Akpom has taught us anything, as a lesson we should learn from, it's not to write someone off based on (and in his case, an actual full season) a number of games you can count on one hand.

We’re five games into the season. Latte and Rogers do not need to produce as much as Akpom.. Sheffield and Luton both got promoted with less goals than us.

Engel is what.. three games in? We have not bought Ryan Giles. We need to conceed less goals.. he looks stronger defensively. Alex Bangura hasn’t even started a game.. he might be our first choice left back.
