I see we had a few hundred down there in 1987, but not 1,500 plus.

This was the game Rioch told Slaven we played with 10 men all game i.e he went missing. The next game the Boro Team Sheet had a blank where Bernie's name should have been.
 
Went that day. Set off in a Kenning hired Austin Maestro about 2am after dragging mates out of a nightclub, got there about 12pm after getting lost on the way somehow. Coming away from the ground a car of Argyle lads sped past and chucked a wheel brace through the back windscreen which remarkably missed the three occupants of the back seat, landing on one of them’s laps. Had to drive all the way to Bristol on a wet and windy night to pick up a replacement car for the rest of the journey home. Think it was a full 24 hour round trip. Hey ho, great memories 😁👍
 
I was there that day. Went on the supporters club bus. I think there was only one coach went. I remember the driver ploughed through a load of cones at roadworks on the way back and got pulled by the police.

For some reason, I thought Parky had scored for us but it was the other Gary!

There was a good away crowd. I'm not sure what the official numbers were but it felt like around 800. We were kept back after the game and had to walk around the pitch to exit the stadium.

Good memories of a hell of a long day on the road. Left Ayresome around 6am and back home at 1am on the Sunday.
