Say and think what you like about Piers Morgan......

He deserves credit for the way he has tried to hold the government to account. That credit is tainted because a big part of me thinks he is doing it as part of his 'populist' schtick. In terms of Harry and Meghan, not only is he completely wrong on the subject but he very clearly has a weird obsession with one half of that couple. Personally, I cannot stand the Royal Family or what it stands for. I don't think it has any place in modern society and the fawning over them is sickening but people get angry about Harry and Meghan without ever really being able to explain why intelligently.

I could be wrong but I don't think he was involved in the phone hacking. I thought he had left by the time that happened? He was definitely responsbile for the fake Iraq photos but I am not so sure about the phone hacking.

Didn't he write about knowing about phone hacking in one of his books? This was long before people really knew what was going on, or the police were involved. I'm sure I've read that somewhere(not his book). In fact I remember reading that he mentioned phone hacking on stage once, when he'd gone up to collect or present some sort of industry award. Something about thanking Vodafone or something like that.

He was editor of the Mirror at the time of the phone hacking.

It's strange that the News of the World paper got shut down and the editor thrown into jail for their own phone hacking, but Piers Morgan is given a free ride and a job on breakfast TV.
 
Honestly don't know. I just had it in my mind that he wasn't involved in it. As I said my recollection could be wrong.
 
A quick check shows he wrote in his book that he knew what phone hacking was and that it was going on at other papers but didn't admit to doing it himself. But he didn't report it to anyone, which seems strange for a journalist really. I think I read the bit about thanking Vodafone in Private Eye but not sure.
 
Genuinely don’t care what what Harry, Meghan or any of the royal family are up to ever.
Looking on the mail website they clearly as there’s about 5 different articles about it.
 
probably just peeved he didn't get the big interview with them.

Personally think the bloke is a complete gob shyte, but each to their own.

Have you anything to say about the posters on here who post almost daily about the Tories? What do you think of them, Zoophonic, do you think they are obsessed?
