Can’t say I rate Parker, never saw any of his teams overachieve.
Two promotions, but relegated twice and Fulham were **** poor each time.
Watched more of them in the Prem than in our league but bit of a media darling. Kept reading about how Parker was a talented young manager who had Fulham playing well in the PL - all I saw was a weak team who made a feeble attempt at staying up.
The season’s barely kicked off but you don’t have to read between the lines too closely to see what’s happened here when you see that statement from their board saying that they’ve got a “sustainable” system and it’s “critical” that their manager commits to it. The board want to keep doing Bournemouth things, Parker’s gone in and said if you don’t spend loads of money we’ll get beat 9-0 every week, the board have said fine, we’ll find a manager who won’t.
Whether he’s right or wrong (and he’s probably right)… If you’re gonna pick that kind of fight you’d better be Antonio Conte, not Scott Parker.
