FORMER Test and Trace chief Dido Harding has applied to be the next head of NHS England.
Current boss, Sir Simon Stevens, stands down at the end of July. Baroness Harding was appointed by Health Secretary Matt Hancock, without competition, to head Test and Trace, which she did until April.
The Commons Public Accounts committee said there was “no clear evidence” the scheme contributed to a reduction in infection levels.
The NHS job has a £130billion annual budget and is responsible for 1.5 million employees.
Her Tory links and lack of hospital experience would make her a controversial appointment.
Shadow health minister Justin Madders hoped all applicants are judged “on recent performance in public sector roles which, in her case, speaks for itself. “
Surely not...if she got the job, bye bye NHS. This chumocracy has got to stop ffs..getting way past a joke now.
