I thought he had been done by another unsavable shot when they hit the post. He made some great saves tonight. He will inevitably give a goal or two away at some point but as with Steffen, it’s the price of playing it out from the back with that level of composure. I just hope the fans understand that.
 
I loved the reaction of the Cardiff player when the ball was played through for him with a fifty-fifty challenge with Dieng. The closer he got the less he fancied it and you see him wince away rather than go in the challenge with Dieng.
 
He is a decent all rounder, an upgrade on Steffen for sure so far, best since Randolph, good experienced Championship keeper, had nothing to prove tbf, much better passer than Steffen for me too.
 
Been consistently excellent for us. I’m already dreading the African Cup of Nations in Jan/Feb which he will surely be a part of.
 
Got to agree. He's looked easily our best buy this season. Decent goalie, v confident and cool

The way we play from the back, mistakes will be made but he plays the keeper sweeper role brilliantly. A bargain
 
Yeah. I think he's been absolutely class. I dread to think what scorelines would have been like without him, in all honesty. Better than Steffen IMO, Seems very calm and not a flapper,

He is so much better with the ball at his feet than Steffen …which makes me feel calmer when he has the ball….
 
I said he would be better for us than Steffen, looks to be the case. Not as flashy as Steffen but a LOT more composed on the ball. Doesn't tend to parry the ball back out into dangerous areas like Steffen used to, either
 
Made a great save 1 on 1, in the first half, also his reading of the play and coming out to sweep up is first class.
There were many positives last night,

Engel 2nd half once he relaxed
Barlasser's neat passing, always looking for the forward pass, again better 2nd half once spaces appeared.
Greenwood had good movement all night and had some good moments.

But Dieng his calmness in and around his box, his calmness when receiving and passing the ball, his awareness of danger and sweeping up its like having another defender on the pitch.

Another solid performance from a top keeper.
