Shops that don't exist anymore

Have a walk around Dorman Museum. Free and well worth 60 minutes of your time. Sad to see places from my childhood now gone.

I can’t for the life of me remember the name of the stores but they were sterile-looking record/CD/video game stores. I think they were around for a few short years sometime in the early, to late 2000s. They didn’t have a good reputation and I think they were one of the first stores to encourage buying stuff online. It was really expensive (£20 CDs) and I think it may have bought out another big music store (Virgin or HMV, or something like that). I think their stores decor and logo had a lot of green in it.

Can anyone reassure me that I’m not going crazy, and these stores actually did exist? 😬

I’ve just Googled ‘bought out virgin music stores’ and the answer came up… Zavvi.

I knew I wasn’t going crazy. 😅

Bells stores.

Think Les bell started out in Skelton and then had little shops everywhere.

Always used to see him driving around in his roller, LB1 I think was his number plate

C & a, the blight of my Saturday morning when we would go into Middlesbrough to see my Nan and family and I’d have to walk round with mam and dad.

Actually, it’s a toss up between c&a and the light section in BHS
