Should Boris go to jail for his handling of the covid pandemic, during and after?
Alright who said no and why?
If they can prove negligence then yes. It shouldn't be too hard to prove.
You can't jail someone for making bad decisions but you can jail someone for being negligent.
He won't go to jail, not because he is part of the establishment (see Jeffrey Archer, who got 4 years) but because he would have to be charged with a criminal offence which not only carries imprisonment, but also merits it (a very high bar). So he's not going to jail for a COVID breach.Regardless of what anyone thinks he will not go to jail. He is still part of the 'Establishment' the elite few who rule the country and there is one law for them and one for the rest of us.
You only have to look at the old Eton photographs of Boris and Cameron in the same line up to see that. The Covid inquiry is not so much to apportion blame but more of a 'lessons to be learnt' hearing.
Boris knows regardless of the outcome, blame and jail is never an option.
