Should Boris go to prison for his actions during covid?

I wondered at the time why deaths were recorded as with Covid and not of Covid, I'm now of the opinion that it was a deliberate ploy to stop retrospective prosecutions, it's harder to prove a death was caused by negligence if the certificate shows with instead of of.

What I don't get with Johnson is we see countless videos of him out ( scruffy as ever) pounding the streets ,beaches, forest tracks wherever......and yet he's still a fat pasty faced cnut....I don't get it !!!!!!

And the second the cameras stop rolling, he'll be inhaling the contents of a Fortnum and Mason hamper.

Because it’s all staged. There was a journalist who filmed it in action a year or two ago. He got out his car around the corner from where the media pack was waiting, put on his shorts and trainers and ran about 40 yards to the entrance. We were then presented in the papers with images of him enjoying one of his runs. It may even have been the time he’d been photographed running in a shirt, tie, jacket and shorts.

But Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson doesn’t actually do any running, it’s part of his ‘character’ and done solely for the news media. Like his ruffled hair, his Latin, his obscure old English. It’s an act. And the pressing issue for me is how he actually got into his positions of power and influence and who aided and abetted him, because you know for sure that they’re busy working on the next one to take over.

I don't think that particular theory is valid. For example when an old person dies it might be that they have cancer but pneumonia kills them, they have a weak heart but influenza actually delivers the coup de grace. With the best will in the world someone who dies when infected with COVID could actually meet their maker via heart failure, respiratory problems or even dehydration. So was it COVID that was the cause of death or heart failure? Without COVID, they live on and without the weak heart too. Impossible to say which in many/most cases.

Therefore, I think that excess deaths show a pretty reliable measure of pandemic mortality.

Have him meet all the relatives of those who died unnecessarily because of his ignorance and arrogance. Have him meet them one by one so he sees the real effects of his decisions and have him apologise.

Just this, Viv. There’s a great old Yiddish word that was used by old comedians ‘Schtick’ to describe their act. It’s his Schtick.

He wouldn't care any more after all that than he did before it. He's a narcissist and his only thought ever is for himself.

I agree with Muttley.
Medically it's much easier and more accurate to say someone who died had Covid than it is to say it was Covid which killed them.

The NHS was overwhelmed and unable to carry out its customary post-mortem process. The sheer number of bodies to be processed, together with the need to focus medical resources on the sick, meant the post-mortem process was necessarily fairly cursory. I was told this then by a friend who was an A&E doctor at the time. Their instructions were to sign off with any known underlying condition plus a 'with covid' qualifier, without further investigation unless something was obviously amiss. Nothing sinister - just prioritising treatment of the living. As you say, excess deaths are probably the best measure.
