Should we make a complaint to EFL regarding Sunderland chants?

Awful bunch of fans, but hardly the only club with them. Football fans in general can be pretty disgraceful.

Club's can now face disciplinary action if fans sing "rent boys" at Chelsea fans. Why should they constantly get away with calling us paedos and all those other derogatory chants.

They are imo the lowest of the low when it comes to chants. They really scrape the barrel. They are thugs. The most depressing aspect is that the fathers also chant, adults and young children stand by their side and chant looking up at their parents, their role models, with pride. This is reprehensible and appalling.

This behaviour has been going on for years. These chants for at least 30 years if not longer. Chelsea, the rich, privileged London club complains about homophobic chants and fans are now warned of legal action and lifetime bans.

Middlesbrough, a working class town with little money or influence and not 'London centric,' has to tolerate perverted chants such as 'Paedo' and 'Going down on your daughter'

The same rules don't apply to us.

It was disappointing that at one point late on in the game that song was sung but we've been putting up with these chants from that lot for years, and there's numerous different chants, all disgusting.
 
Newcastle are just as bad for it. I know we haven't played them in years but I guarantee if we did they would be chanting the same things. It isn't just a select few though, it sounded like their whole away end today. Brain dead bunch.
 
Taking a look at their forum, many of their fans see no issue with the chanting and are unrepentant.

I’ll repeat a point - imagine if you are a victim of child sexual abuse sitting in that crowd, and 2000 people are singing and laughing about your pain and suffering. Just vile.
 
Some of them are actually defending it on their board, and apparently we're just as bad because a few idiots decided to sing about Adam Johnson.

Something the idiot had obviously googled, and obviously chosen to ignore that fact that the VAST majority (90+) of those children were returned to their families due to serious issues regarding the “diagnosis” of abuse. Essentially meaning hundreds of innocent people were falsely accused of abusing their own children.

F***ing disgusting thing to sing about.

We should. But two wrongs and all that.

It’s worth noting that homophobic songs have rightly been legislated against, so any of our fans who sang that song should be banned.
