Some unpleasant posting on here of late

Posters in general, seem more angry, less tolerant, and more quickly if you don't near 100% agree with them. There is a lot of "you are with us or against on this". Rational discussion is not encouraged. There has always ben an element of this, but its the drift/trend that is moving. Its possible something external that has been brought into the Board i.e. people are becoming like this in other settings.

Even on digital ticketing in the Summer, there were quite a few posters that wrote they can't see a problem in moving completing over to Digital Tickets only and didn't seem to understand how some fans felt alientated or they need to get into the modern age etc. MFC also seemed to be e
xibiting an element of this, but have now back tracked.
Almost exactly 20 years ago there was a thread on here saying that the CC win was simply papering over the cracks.

Its really not changed that much.

I do remember the papering over the cracks one - the anti Steve McClaren posts could be nasty - one anti SMac poster called himself Ginger Pig, but I don't remember the you and your sort type replies.

It’s funny how many comments like this happen from time to time.

It was always better years ago apparently.
It was. It was way better when it was just Tim's email group when we would gather around MIRC when we played. I guess I are now one of the so called "angry, bitter auld men with high blood pressure". Which I may add I am the furthest away from that generalization. I would say a lot of people are afraid to post on here now.

I don’t never will do pile on culture I come on the message board to post about stuff some Boro some not and have a debate in a civilised way and chew the fat.

But of late it’s getting less and less of a pleasure which is a shame.

Not sure why

it seems more of the better posters are no longer seen on here and that reason is becoming more apparent day by day

I have noticed this place isn't as..... 'carefree' and fun as it once was. I suspect it may be too do with where the uk is at the moment. Remember you may not be struggling but others might. Also Boro are a bit hit and miss this season. Doesn't bother me but some supporters it can ruin their week.

The uk is a bit screwed up at the moment and our government only really represent a handful of people. It's a bit depressing.

Maybe, but you can always just change your username.

This place helped get this angry, bitter auld man with high blood pressure (managed by medication) though a pandemic.

For that I will be forever grateful.

Things change, times change. Ways of communication change.

Just be thankful there has been this shared place. For Boro supporters from all over the world to communicate with each other for so long a time.

Its worth remembering that was 30 years ago. Even the very youngest members of that group are approaching 50.

I think there is probably something in this. Life is very tough for a lot of people and that stress will undoubtedly show itself in posts on the board.

Knew the T*ries would get the blame eventually 😅
Well I suspect it is kind of the crux of the matter isn't it?

I think people are rarely personally attacked on here but the tories as the party of government get slaughtered.

I reckon a lot (not all) of the people who moan about this board being nasty are really moaning about that because they've either personally voted tory previously or (mind bogglingly) are intending to do so again. So they're taking all the criticism of the government as criticism of them personally.

There's been at least one public flounce over that, I suspect plenty of others will have felt the same way though.

I would add not just the UK is more angry - look at USA and also French/Spanish Farmers.
