I find people who behave in such a way do not deserve a voice in society. Criminals, vandals, who break the law, take matters into their own hands thinking they know best or do something for ‘fun’ are utter scum.
Wouldn’t surprise me if it is the work of the same person or people that damaged Beggars Bridge near Glaisdale with a power tool. The link is worth looking into imho.

It's a clean cut, made with professional gear, and on the close-up pictures you can even see where the trunk was properly marked out before the cut. No way that's 100% the work of a 16 year old.

As a landscape photographer, this absolutely breaks my heart. The serenity and beauty of such a beautiful scene has had me lost for words when I’ve visited. I’d planned to go back when we had some clear skies and also in the winter. Gutted doesn’t come close
