Someone has felled Sycamore Gap Tree Overnight

Sometimes there is a lot to be said for sharia law. By this I don’t mean executions or public flogging but the criminal being chastised by an elder, encouraged to show respect, and a restorative justice approach. Being made to atone for their actions.

In China they would be paraded through the town with a placard around their neck letting people know their crime. Public humiliation surely better than nothing?

In this country they will boast about it on Facebook. They will have no doubt taken a photo to show their scrote friends. And be pleased with their exploits.

And we wonder why children routinely carry knives in London. No fear of the law and repercussions. No respect for authority, and no respect for themselves or others.

It’s awful it really is but what will be the maximum charge/sentence they’ll get

Criminal damage is what a fine ??maybe 6 months suspended tops

Was he evicted for no reason? Why were complaints about him made?

haven't read into the whole thing tbh.. sounds like the 16yo is his grandson and the dispute was with his neighbours (the national trust) who put then pressure of the freeholder (jesuits) to have him evicted.. something to do with the campsite? maybe just having a campsite there next to national trust property? - I bet the national trust can be right weirdos.

I didn't see anything in the article about the farmers eviction linking it with the felling of the tree. Have I missed something?

Seems his lease ran out years ago and he had no right to be there. On top of that he has been running an illegal campsite for years.
